You own two spellbooks; one taken from the now-dead Compassion the Tiefling, who threatened to murder a child, and one given to you by Itzu, your Yuan-Ti Pureblood friend who defiled the corpse of a good man to get it only to get you the cantrip 'Gust'. That's it. Two spellbooks from dead people. Congrats!

A curious and friendly kenku with a love of firearms and meeting new people, finding out new information, discovering things he's never seen before. He has a tendency to go with the flow of adventures and events, as that tends to be where the most interesting information could be found. His curiosity, as vast as it might be, is both a blessing, and a curse, as he shall soon find out.

Backstory

The basics of Hiss's backstory is that he was an orphan kenku, living on the streets with his brother, Windchime, stealing to survive, the stereotypical backstory you'd expect from a criminal-type, but his story takes a bit of a turn when he and his brother try to steal from a building that they really shouldn't have. Still young, probably in their teens, they tried to steal from a rather large building with a ram's head symbol painted onto the door, not really knowing who or what might be in it, but confident in their abilities.

In the middle of their invasion of the building, however, they were discovered, and in their efforts to escape, sadly, only Hiss made it out. Dejected and mourning, he wandered the streets, thinking about what had just happened, when he heard voices. Ever the curious and eager-to-listen kenku he was, he'd huddled closer to listen. The voices mentioned payment if they could find a hideout, a building with a ram's head symbol, he heard mention of it being someone important's enemy. Perking up at both the opportunity of payment and revenge, he quickly approached them and convinced them to follow them, bringing them to the building. Pleasantly surprised at the fortunate occurrence, the individual paid Hiss, and told him that if he had any more important information that he'd gladly pay for it, and told him ways to find him. Keeping note of this info, Hiss continued his usual lifestyle of stealing to survive when necessary, but also kept a sharp ear out for any interesting info. He became quite familiar with the human man, who he learned was called 'Adrian', and whenever he heard something that he thought Adrian might like to hear, he went and found him, and more often than not got paid for it. Hiss continued life like this, growing more and more ambitious and adventurous in his lifestyle and search for information, and began to consider even leaving the city he lived in to find even more interesting things.. and that's where he is this day.

A rather interesting, but friendly-seeming goblin that Hiss respects the charisma of; this goblin can seemingly talk them out of anything! Hiss definitely considers him a friend, and shares the solidarity in being the two youngest constantly patronized as being 'children' by the others of the group.

The Yuan-Ti Pureblood who, despite possibly doing evil magic for a patron demon somewhere, helped Hiss get rid of his curse, saved him from almost dying at the hands of a giant undead whale, and has both listened to and given advice to and from Hiss, so he, despite their previous uncertainties, would consider him a friend, especially since they've both saved each other's lives before.
