Sayuri Suzuki is a fan character for the series; Touken Ranbu, and serves as the main "Saniwa" in her own citadel near a cliffside with the view of the ocean on one side and a forest on the other. She alongside her apprentices and their own set of students, help defend the future with the help of Japanese swords given life and a body through their magical abilities.
With a kind heart and calm air of elegance and compassion, she is viewed as a beacon of hope and insperation for those under her guidance but behind closed doors she hides something from everyone closest to her, especially from Ren, a student as well as her younger sister.
Appearance
Sayuri is a young lady with a rather slim body and a slightly above avarage height. She has very long light brown hair that she pulls back into a bun with a red bead-like-band while letting the rest of it to trail down behind her back. She has full with short strands of hair framing the side of her face. Her eyes contain a gradiant of blue-yellow, a side-effect from over using her abilities (or so she claims), she likes to wear orange eyeshadow.
She usually wears an orange kimono with colorful but simple flower prints around the bottom and sleeves over a brown much thinner kimono style undershirt with a fan like cut at the bottom and held together with a green sash tied into a ribbon at the front around her waist. The reason for this is because she likes wearing lots of layers as she tends to get cold easily, her family also considers it to make themselves appear more presentable.
She wears a red hakama with white braked lines at the base, as well as a pair of grey geta and white tabi socks.
She tends to always keep her hands within her sleeves when she walks or stands, the only time anyone sees her hands is when shes giving instructions, working in her study, eating or using her hands.
Her more casual wears consist of warm sweaters, leggings and flats. She prefers comfort over fashion when not in her kimono. Her favorite is a tan knitted sweater given to her by her mother when she became a full=fledged Saniwa. Her hair is still tied back with the bead-like band, there is some sentimental value to it and hardly wears her hair down because of it.

Sayuri is generally seen as a calm and kind person with the calmest of smiles on her face as she goes about her days at the citadel. She is often seen in her study with maps and books pratically thrown all over the room as she works hard to come up with tactical strategies in order to keep her beloved Touken Danshi from being destroyed in the field when out on a mission.
She is quick to help her friends with their problems and will not hesitate to protect them with her life if needed.
Trivia
- She can be found mostly in her study most days which is also the largest room in the citadel. It has shelves of books on tactics, Japanese history, war records and maps of all regions over the course of history. It's not unusual to find mountains of papers and books all over the room as she tends to work throughout the night planning lessons/strategies and studying.
- On rainy nights or nights she can't sleep, Sayuri tends to walk around the flower garden sing lullabies or requiems, it is unknown why most of her songs are sad or emotional. Many of the younger Touken Danshi eventually learn of her singing that they ask her is she can sing for them to her embarassment.
This singing while one can't sleep gets pick up by; Sakura and Hinata. - Sayuri is considered the definition of "work-o-holic" by everyone in the citadel, she can work for days without rest that it is quite scary to find her bedridden from over-working. She has on multiple occasions scared the living daylights out of her students and the Touken Danshi from this that they all now take turns making sure she goes to bed at a resonable hour and making sure she takes care of her health. The only ones she actually listens to about bedtime are Ren, Heshikiri Hasebe, and surprisingly Izuminokami Kanesada.
- She isn't a great cook but she is very good at baking. If she has time she at least once a week she can be found in the kitchen makes desserts for everyone in the citadel (with the help of Ren and Hanako) as a way to show her appreciation.
- She has a love for all kinds of teas. She is able to tell what tea it is by its smell almost instantly.
- She is quite good at games and has very good poker face.
