- Shifters are cursed to be stuck in their feral form if they consume shifter meat - cannibalism is punished in a rather cruel form.
- Tick and others like him are essentially immortal, but cursed to their feral form while it rots.
- They can either live until they fall apart at the seams literally or continuously stitch themselves back together using parts from other shifters.
