Appearance

Max has a tall and mascular build, standing at 6'9 ft (above 7'0 ft with his shoes on). He is black, but his albinism gives him pale skin and blue eyes. He has two pairs of white cat ears, giving him four in total. His jawline is squared, he has a button nose, and his upper lip is larger than his bottom lip. In his usual high ponytail, his hair is a couple inches below his waist. When it's down, it is 6 inches longer than this. Under his left eye is a black burn in the shape of a thick stripe. The right side of his face is covered in this burn. I typically represent his missing eye on this side as a swirl/scribble, but it is an empty eye socket. His teeth are exposed on this side as well, and are sharp and cat-like in appearance. He has a circle of roman numerals burned into his neck and various places on his limbs.

SHADOW TRAVEL

The world is connected where light doesn't touch. Demons can tap into these passageways with any shadow that can fit them. Going farther distances takes energy, especially when travelling between different planes (ex: Hellish, Heavenly, Earthly). Max, as the monarch of Hell, can travel between Hell and Earth more easily, but visiting Heaven is painful.

SHADOW WEAPONS

To Max, shadows have more potential uses than just travel. Every shadow cast by someone is the sheath of a weapon. Each weapon represents the person that the shadow belongs to in both appearance and function. Max can access and unsheathe these weapons whenever someone's shadow is accessible, but he must be careful. If he breaks the weapon from someone's shadow, their soul will be damned.

PYROKINESIS

As its monarch, Max can harness the fires of Hell and manifest them at will. This can extend to controlling temperatures, increasing the rate at which something oxidizes/burns, and even the products of fire, ash and carbon dioxide. However, increased emotion makes controlling the flames more difficult, and Max is a very hotheaded person.

POSSESSION

The body is just a shell of flesh controlled by electric and chemical impulses. Max can inhabit another's body by leaving his own and taking over their motor functions and thoughts. As monarch, he can even possess multiple bodies, but it takes a lot of focus and less can be done with each body. During a possession, he gains the abilities of the body and loses his own. This leaves his own body vulnerable to attacks. If the duration of the possession goes on longer than half an hour, the host starts getting symptoms, including sensitivity to salt and holy objects, general body degradation, and eventually, death.

DAMNATION

When he sees fit, Max damns souls to have Hell as their afterlife after death. This only has six limited uses every moon cycle, and if he abuses it, Heavenly authorities may intervene.

Relationships

Kotar Xianthus | Father

Kotar was incredibly neglectful and verbally abusive to Max while he was raising him, causing Max to drop out of high school and run away. Decades later, they sometimes talk, but the relationship is still very tense.

Cyrille | Mother

Cyrille was only present for a short part of Max's life before she left them. He was heartbroken and harbored a lot of mixed feelings about her; he hated her and felt like she abandoned him, but at the same time, idolized her and even dyed his hair to look more like her.

Yvonne Xianthus | Sister

Max and Yvonne were pretty close growing up and took refuge from the world and their father with each other. They are very humorous and often like to mess with others together through pranks and sarcasm. Max can get protective of her at times, which she dislikes, but this is one of the few things they have actual conflict over.

Felix Xianthus | Brother

Felix died when he was very young, since the Italian mafia came to exact revenge on Kotar. Max, upon finding Felix in Hell, refused to let him go back to their father, as he didn't trust him to continue to raise him. Max is very protective of Felix, and has often killed for him. They love to joke and fight each other both verbally and physically for fun.
