The Creator/Artist

Interrupt my art and I'll interrupt your breathing.

The short-fused, perfectionistic artist.

Height  5'5
Body Type  Ectomorph
Body Build  Thin and lean
Weight  145
Body Shape  Rectangle
Attractiveness  Somewhat Attractive

Micah is a young female with porcelain skin, ice-blue eyes, and watermelon-colored pupils. Her skin is soft and pale save for her hands which carry semi-thick callouses from years of painting and gardening. Her hair is light greyish-blue and tends to be slightly wavy and gnarly from her forgoing brushing it when in a rush to create. She normally has her hair up in a messy bun or ponytail, with strands closer to the front falling out of the hair tie and framing either side of her face. Many a time she has debated on buzzing her head completely, finding her hair to be a nuisance when trying to paint but will threaten violence if anyone even as much as offers to assist her with a better hairstyle.

She is of average female height, sitting comfortably at 5 feet 5 inches and gaining a couple more when wearing her geta. No one dares make any type of comment about her height or make any comment in general to her- her temper is quick to rouse and cause trouble for anyone in her line of sight. She's horridly self-conscious about her body and its shape, despising her lack of curves, and does her best to eat to pack some weight; however, she tends to get so engrossed in her painting that she forgets to eat enough, or at all. She is more of a snacker than someone who enjoys full meals, munching on sour grapes or pre-peeled and pre-cut fruits.

Most of the time, Micah is completely covered in paint of varying colors and shades, her body her very own canvas that she has no issue using when she has no more room on her paint palette for additional pigments, or if she needs to test out color mixtures. She does dabble in a bit of makeup: simple mascaras, eyeliners, and rosy blushes to give her skin a flush and livelier color, along with some natural eyeshadow colors. Despite her attempts to do her makeup though to attract attention, the splatters and globs of paint that color her skin tend to ruin and/or overshadow her efforts.

Voice

Micah's voice, despite her smaller stature, has a very mature, biting quality like that of a seasoned supervillain. She always carries a hint of sass or taunt in her tone, even when not looking to cause mayhem. Generally speaking, her voice is smooth, mature, and demanding, which catches many off guard if they have the (dis)pleasure of speaking with her. Her laughter is equally as smooth and almost flirtatious to ones unknowing of her personality, though those who do know her best know it carries more of a sadistic and mocking undertone, especially when angered and ready to incite violence. She spares nothing to the imagination when it comes to threatening those who dare hinder her from her goals, and will make it very known what they are in for if they remain unintelligent enough to test her. On her good days though, you can be guaranteed the buttery softness of her voice, even if she decides to sprinkle a bit of bite in her tone.

Accent

Micah doesn't have an accent necessarily, her tone is clear and concise. She never minces her words and each syllable comes out easy to hear and understand- just as she likes it.
Example of Accent

Handwriting

Micah's handwriting is legible and evenly spaced, a little bit bouncy in the way she forms her letters. When scribbling down paint mixture percentages, it tends to be a bit more sloppy due to her impatience and desire to get right back to her art. Her handwriting seems a bit more masculine in formation than feminine, taking on a more rigid but legible feel.
Example of Handwriting

Attire

Micah's normal day-to-day outfit is closely related to a modern-day two-piece yukata. It comprises a purple and pink watercolor haneri and a top of matching colors. Her bottoms are a pair of purple-grey, flowy, pleated pants that rest just above her knees. A grey and purple obi puts the entire ensemble together, a large, purple and pink bow with greyish patterning tied and set at the small of her back. She pairs the outfit with her favorite ribboned baby-pink kimono socks and comfortable geta that she wears everywhere. Her headwear consists of a handmade light mauve cloth headband with dark pink butterfly charms, which tie together in a carefully fashioned bow around her prized Electro vision. A dark pink butterfly adornment rests atop said vision, finishing off the artistic, yet fashionable look.

At home, Micah tends to wear whatever she deems most comfortable, baggy t-shirts or blouses with stains too strong to completely wash out, and baggy pants that have suffered the same fate. She tends to walk around her house barefoot, confident in her floors being squeaky clean, but when in her art shed, she will wear the same old geta that she always wears. She is pretty frugal with her clothing and doesn't purchase anything she doesn't need, so she tends to wear out her clothing quite a bit before purchasing more. Sleepwear is the same story; the moment Micah returns home it's all or nothing, not wanting to have to redress into a different outfit for sleeping purposes.

Accessories

Other than her headband, Micah doesn't wear many accessories, finding it a waste when they will only be ruined by paint and the remnants of monsters in the open expanses she travels to for artistic inspiration. The lighter she travels the better, and puts more importance into making sure her art equipment gets to where it needs to be safe and sound. She has her ears pierced but never wears earrings, despising how they would snag on the baby hairs by her ears and cause her more irritation than necessary. Her skin is very sensitive which also never seemed to help, the piercing site becoming red and inflamed at any attempt to insert any type of earring into it.

Scars

Micah doesn't have any large and noticeable scars, but she does have some faint ones all over her body from fighting monsters in the wilds of Watatsumi Island. She tends to her wounds quickly and does her best to make sure they leave few blemishes on her skin, but she also takes pride in each one and treats them as lessons learned that even she isn't immune from having a few hits land.

Tattoos

She does not have any tattoos, finding their permanence distasteful. It isn't that she despises tattoos and those with them, but she would rather not have them on her body. She silently admires those with tattoos, however, enjoying seeing the black or colored ink peeking from under sleeve cuffs or pant legs. She admits their artistic value and their ability to allow those to express themselves and finds it quite comforting knowing that many find art to be a valuable resource for self-expression, even if it isn't in the way or style she enjoys.

Demeanor  Aggressive & Particular
Temperament  Choleric

Micah is an individual who is better off being left to her own devices rather than being befriended. Belligerent, taunting, and honest to a terrible fault, Micah is a woman who knows what she wants and will stop at nothing to achieve it, even if it means destroying those who dare cross her path and interfere in her goals. The citizenry of Watatsumi Island has become well aware of her violent and almost sadistic nature, especially when interrupted while painting. Horror stories of Micah's conquests sweep through the small villages of the island like whispers through reeds, the locals warning tourists and new neighbors of the "Red Queen" of Watatsumi. Rumors say that the red paint that Micah uses is the blood of her latest victims, and although Micah would argue that blood is too varying in viscosity to be a reliable paint medium, she leans into the rumors with fervor; realizing they benefit her more than hinder her when it comes to making sure she isn't bothered.

She is perfectionistic and meticulous in everything she does, especially when it comes to painting. Landscape painting is her escape and her deepest passion, and she wants nothing more than to perfect her craft to the point where no one can recreate her style and eye for detail. Even if it comes at the cost of her health and well-being, she will go to extensive lengths to make sure each painting she produces has the maximum amount of effort and detail. She finds interruptions and eyesores to be her biggest irritators, and they make her so furious that in most cases their removal ends with something or someone being destroyed or injured. Unfortunately despite her obsessive and unhealthy drive for ultimate perfection, she is horridly self-critical of all of her works, normally destroying her final creations or storing them in her attic with all of the other "failures" that she will never let see the light of day ever again. The very few who consider themselves lucky (or even unlucky) to have gotten close enough to see her work cannot understand how she can find fault in the product of her blood, sweat, and tears- each painting she creates a breathtaking masterpiece that anyone would consider worthy to have in their collection.

When it comes to said close circles, Micah values personal space and integrity; she is never the first to reach out but is always the first to be in their defense, though her confidantes do their best to not let their misfortunes reach her ears. Her violent tendencies terrify them as they would anyone else, and the last thing any of them would want is for Micah to find out that someone she finds value in has been slighted in any way, even if the inconvenience was minor. Micah has very few people she considers friends due to the image she has allowed others to form of her for the sake of her solitude, but the respect and loyalty for those she enjoys is a sweetness reserved for the far and few- even if she hides it behind harsh words and snarky remarks.

Goals & Dreams

Micah dreams of becoming a world-renown painter who is respected by all, and is the reason why she works her hardest to prefect her craft. Her biggest drem though, is to recieve a commission from the author of her favorite light novel series and have one of her works be used on the cover.

Secrets & Fears

Micha's biggest fear is having her name fall into obscurity, the world realizing se isn't worthy of being recognized or remembered. She craves validation from those she is inspired by, and as much as he argues that such sentiments are her only drive, deep down she wants to prove to herself she is worthy most of all.

Q:  Does she own any pets?

She does not own any pets, though enjoy smaller animals like rabbits and squirrels. She wouldn't like to admit it, but she has tried to catch wild ones to no avail.

Q:  Has she ever tried portrait painting?

Yes, and that line of work didn't last long. She enjoyed the amount of detail she needed to put into such paintings, but she got tired of threatening people to be her muse in order to get volunteers.

Q:  Has she traveled?

Yes, to most regions of Teyvat save for Fontaine. She wants so badly to go to Fontaine to paint the beautiful landscapes there, but she knows deep down that their obsession with law and rules would land her in the Fortress of Meropide quicker than she can blink.

Strengths

  •  Endurance
Micah's endurance is admirable, the woman having the ability to trek long distances or keep up a fight for days on end, even weeks. She is relentless in her pursuits, which contributes much to her ability to be under large amounts of strain. Such talent is one of the biggest reasons why no one dares to mess with her, knowing she will not give up or just leave a situation undealt with.
  •  Adaptability
Micah's adaptability to any situation pairs well with her endurance capabilities. If running low on paint, materials, or weapons, she can easily remedy these troubles through both savory and unsavory means, making paints out of plants, berries, and other items that have the desired viscosity and pigmentation she needs. Anything she comes across can be used as a weapon in her mind, which leaves an entire arsenal at her disposal no matter where she goes.
  •  Attention to Detail
Micah, though her perfectionistic tendencies are more of a bane than a blessing, does find success when it comes to attention to detail. It's what makes her pieces as beautiful and awe-inspiring as they are- the little touches and almost unnoticeable details in every single artistic work she does is the reason many find her so inspiring despite her terrifying disposition.
  •  Intimidation
Her intimidating aura alongside the reputation that precedes her keeps most people and even smarter monsters from bothering her, which means more time Micah can dedicate to perfecting her art. Less hassle means less energy spent on destroying anything in her path, which is a positive for everyone who may be involved.

Weaknesses

  •  Agility
Micah is a hands-on and balls-to-the-wall individual, caring less about dodging and avoiding attacks and more about disarming and destroying whatever decided to bother her. This leaves her open for quicker attackers to get a few hits in- that is if they aren't in her line of sight before then.
  •  Sociability
Her reputation, as stated, is both a blessing and a curse- it keeps annoying and pestering people away, but also terrifies those she wishes to glean knowledge or advice from on her works, and even those who wish to commission her or feature her work. When she does spark conversation with someone, it normally ends in the other party backing off and running away- Micah does not care about praise for her work, only critique and criticism.
  •  Self-Confidence
Pairing with her lack of social skills, a lot of her weakness in the field is due in part to her lack of self-worth and confidence in the skills she has. As a perfectionist, she is consistently working towards her own personal definition of the word, which tends to make her ignore compliments and accolades from others who aren't herself. Nothing she does is ever good enough in her eyes, and that takes a toll on her both mentally and physically.
  •  Impulsivity
When in one of her fury fits, Micah tends to act first and think later, the only thing on her mind is the anger she feels for the "something" or "someone" who has decided to anger her this time. The obvious negatives that come with impulsivity apply to Micah just as naturally as they would anyone else, which sometimes land her in situations where she bites off more than she can chew.

NORMAL ATTACK

Performs up to 5 rapid sword strikes.

CHARGED ATTACK

Consumes a certain amount of stamina to perform three rapid sword strikes.

PLUNGING ATTACK

Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, and damage opponents along the path with AoE damage upon impact.

ELEMENTAL SKILL: PALETTE CLEANSE

(Press/Tap): Micah deals a single, rapid electric strike that deals Electro DMG (Hold (Short)) Level 1: Strikes twice, dealing Electro DMG and launching opponents. Level 2: Triggers a spin attack, dealing massive amounts of Electro DMG. This attack deals a small amount of DMG to Micah.

ELEMENTAL BURST: VINDICATION

Micah becomes bloodthirsty and unable to talk down until the job is done. Her Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks will be converted to Electro DMG that cannot be overridden, and her resistance to interruption increases. She does NOT become immune to electro-damage and takes a small amount of damage with each hit she lands. This effect will cancel if Micah leaves the field or all enemies are cleared.

1ST ASCENSION PASSIVE: MALEFIC MEDIUM

Upon casting Palette Cleanse, Micah's weapon agains Electro Infusion for 5s.

Sketchbook

A sketchbook that never leaves Micah's side. Rather than it being filled with sketches, it's filled with locations and potential scenioc spots she is planning on painting. Other contents include locations of materials she can make paint from, as well as detailed steps on how to make specific paint colors.

The Moonlight Masquerade

The light novel that had initially introduced her to the world of cliche romances and adventure. She tends to only bring it with her on long trips, knowing that she will need something to occupy herself with when it becomes too dark to paint. To Micah, everything from the storyline to the design of the cover is perfection, and will fight to the death if anyone deems the book anything less than a masterpiece.

Art Equipment

A box containing a well-loved paint palette and an equally as well-loved brushes to go with it. Seeing Micah without these items normally signifies danger, and it is best to move out of her line of fire the moment it is possible.

Bag of Mora

A small bag of Mora, enough to cover the essentials. Depending on the weight of the bag, it's easy to tell when Micah is planning on purchasing new materials or art equipment.

Potion

A regular potion. Given to her by an "annoyingly worrisome acquaintance". Has had it for months but has no plan on using it.

Tri-Flavored Skewer

Micah's favorite dish. She tends to pack a few, whether taking a short trip or traveling regions away. It's quite a relief she carries so many- she gets quite hangry.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN...

Micah was born on an eerily quiet and moonlit night on October 31st, to the young couple Momoki Hajime and Reishi Himura. Her parents were both gentle and clumsy outcasts who met by chance and to their belief, fate. Micah's father, Reishi, was the son of a well-known blacksmith out of Konda Village, and struggled his entire childhood under his father's critical gaze, wanting to prove himself worthy of inheriting the family business. No matter what the young boy did, he could never impress or make his father proud, failing every attempt at crafting even the most basic of swords and becoming the laughingstock of the village due to his awkward and unwieldy attempts to socialize. His luck never seemed to improve, and by the time he became a young man he had become hopeless in his pursuits of making any positive name for himself, becoming desperate to change his life around and prove himself to be worthy of people's respect. In a last bid to make that dream a reality, he set out to the Grand Narukami Shrine in hopes of seeking council with the esteemed Guuji.

It is there that he met Momoki, a shy and introverted shrine maiden with a tendency to damage property, despite her well-coordinated attempts not to. From breaking dishes to knocking over prized vases, she had too, made a name for herself she'd rather do without. Her fellow shrine maidens found the girl silly and a bit of a hassle, but Reishi thought her perfect in every sense of the word, desiring deep down to greet her and get to know her. So that is what he did, making weekly trips to seek guidance from Lady Yae as well as see the girl who had a hold on his heart since day one. Having the guidance of the Guuji, as well as the motivation to be someone Momoki could be proud of did wonders for Reishi, his focus and devotion to winning her over driving him to work harder at the goals he set for himself to achieve. Those around him saw the change almost immediately, becoming more and more impressed with his drive to succeed. Reishi's father even came to finally admit that his son had become someone he could entrust the blacksmithing business to, and after a few more months of apprenticeship, Reishi was given the business in full. His luck only seemed to get better, soon after recieving an Electro vision from the gods to top it all off. Though proud of himself and excited to gain the admiration of Konda Village, there became only one person he craved validation from.

It wasn't long before the two married, Momoki rescinding her Shrine Maiden title with the Guuji's blessing and returning to Konda Village with Reishi to settle down and start their life together. The two became the couple everyone wanted to be, the pinnacle of young love and vitality, and when the newlyweds were introduced to the news that they'd be welcoming a baby into the world, the two took to the news with joy and surprise. Konda Village rejoiced at the news, and Momoki wanted nothing more than to share the happy news with those back at the Shrine. Devoted to making his wife happy, Reishi agreed, the two traveling to the shrine to spread the excitement the moment Momoki hit the two-month mark of her pregnancy. The maidens of the shrine were ecstatic, and Reishi watched adoringly as his wife gushed about her newly-wed life to her old coworkers. Upon readying themselves to return home, the two decided to have their fortune read, hoping the blessing they'd receive could help them continue riding their gleeful high. However, the slip they draw paints a picture of a future laden with dread, the words on the small paper changing the trajectory of their lives completely.

What once was a momentous occasion became one filled with terror, the baby Momoki carried going from being considered a blessing to being deemed a curse. It wasn't as if the pregnancy became too much to bear- in fact, it seemed almost too fluid and easy, worrying the couple even more. The further Momoki journeyed through pregnancy, the more terrified the couple became, truly believing that the silly fortune slip they drew held weight. They did their best to try and keep up a happy front in front of the neighbors though, despite their fears and apprehensions, but they continued to get worse the closer they got to Micah's birth. Soon the day came, and the birth was smooth and effortless according to the cheery midwife who assisted- which did nothing to sate the fears of the new parents. It wasn't until the midwife took her leave that Reishi and Momoki committed a heinous act of selfishness and nonsensical self-preservation, abandoning the freshly born baby and fleeing in the dead of night, taking a boat to Watatsumi to rid themselves of the curse they conjured.

I regret nothing, but I will make you regret everything.

CONTINUED

It was late into the night when the elder of Konda Village heard the soft cries, the constant sound rousing him from his bed and leading him outside into the crisp night air. His first thought was confusion, led by shock when he moved closer to the Himura residence, the door left ajar in an almost purposeful fashion. Allowing himself in, he was greeted by the sight of Micah all alone, swaddled in a small blanket next to haphazardly scribbled exorcism prayers left on sheets of yellowed paper. Putting two and two together came easily for the elder, wasting no time in taking the mewling bundle into his arms and vowing to look after the baby girl despite the many lingering questions that plagued him.

Raising Micah proved easier than he had anticipated, the young girl much quieter and observant than most her age. It was as if she had lived before as if she already knew the answers to the world around her and the secrets it possessed- but truthfully, Micah was just a quiet kid, wanting nothing more than to just do as she was told and remain the background noise to everyday life. Such a personality became the talk of the village, not even taking into account the drama surrounding her upbringing that was constantly whispered among the adults behind closed doors. All of it was unbeknownst to Micah- to her, the elder was her father and his wife her mother, and there was nothing more to it than that. It wasn't until she became of school age that she began to question everything she knew about herself, wondering why she looked like neither of her parents, why the children teased her at school, and why other parents wouldn't allow her classmates to play with her after school. Each time she expressed her confusion to the elder he'd brush the questions off, reassuring her that she just needed to find her place in the village as all of the other children had to.

She chose to believe him each time, telling herself that it was just growing pains, that her peers would soon come around and be kind rather than dismissive and awful toward her. But her teenage years and early adulthood life proved such hopes to be lies, her situation only getting worse the more she aged. It wasn't until her last few years of schooling that she lost her mind, standing up to her bullies in the only way her anger knew how and nearly placing the offenders six feet under. The news of the fight spread through the village like wildfire, the elder taking her by the arm and reprimanding her for the outburst despite knowing she had every right to defend herself after so much pain. It was then he had sat her down and finally aired the dirty laundry of Micah's past, unfurling the hard and painful truths that rendered Micah crushed. The elder had hoped that she'd want to take the news of her past and craft it into something positive for herself to grow from, but he severely misjudged the extent of Micah's anguish.

She had been silent the entire rest of that day, and didn't even present herself at dinner, the silence of the house both tense and foreboding. The night had been the same and the morning followed suit with the same energy- much to the elder's dismay. It was at lunchtime that he finally folded, wracked with guilt and hoping for reconciliation and the opportunity to comfort Micah, only to step into her room and find it abandoned without a note or anything. Little did he know that she was already stepping foot onto the sands of Watatsumi, a darkness to her aura and a hunger in her eye for one thing and one thing only. From there, the story becomes hearsay- some witnesses saying they heard terrorizing screams one night, others saying they heard nothing at all; all they knew was that Micah had appeared out of the blue as if she had materialized from the water itself the next morning, a discomforting smile on her face and a shiny electro vision clutched tightly in her palm.

How does it feel, meeting face to face with death herself?

PRESENT AND FUTURE

Though years have passed, Micah has not returned to the main island of Inazuma, and in turn Konda Village. She does not feel the desire to at all, though she knows she will have to when she deems her paintings pristine enough to sell to the masses. For now, she seems content living on Watatsumi, spending sunrise to sundown painting the local flora and fauna before returning to her late parents' small home a little ways outside of Bourou Village. She has made a name for herself on the island that is much worse than any of the things she had been called in Konda Village, but now that she is older and... stronger- She doesn't mind it at all, taking pride in the villainous titles and wary glances from those who find themselves in too close of proximity to her.

The inhabitants of Watatsumi know better than to cross her or interrupt her, enough people coming home with broken bones or bruises to show for their efforts to finally help them realize she isn't one to befriend. Still, the villagers cannot help but be intrigued by the woman, her artwork something to behold by those who have gotten close enough to see it. Many want nothing more than to just express interest in buying her paintings- but everyone is much too terrified of her to even attempt to greet her, let alone do business with her. Even if one was brave enough to offer on any of her paintings, she would most likely decline, too critical of her work to deem it anything worth selling.

Until Micah finds her paintings worth enough to sell, she will continue working herself to the bone to be a person she could be proud of, a person worth respect and kindness. A person worth staying for.

My newest piece looks like absolute garbage. How will I get my work featured on a light novel cover with this junk?!

  • This is the trivia section.
  • Micah has nearly 200 landscape paintings stored in the attic of her home. She likes to say they aren't good enough to ever see the light of day again.
  • Micah spends a lot of her time before bed reading light novels, and is a massive fan of the Yae Publishing House's works. She finds herself maladaptive daydreaming late into the night about the last novel she has read.
  • She has a worrisomely large collection of monster drops that just sit in a chest waiting to be used or repurposed. She considers them trophies.
  • Micah tends to be drawn toward landscapes rich in biodiversity, as she likes to challenge herself with creating pieces that include every small little detail about a location.
