Upon meeting your gaze, Queen Alaska wordlessly rises to her paws. Royalty, indeed. It's intimidating at first, and without thinking, you start to bow... Then you recall how well-liked she is within the pride. Hadn't they made her sound so friendly, so charming? You glance up, and sure enough, Alaska can barely keep the giggle from breaking her solemn expression. She nudges you upright, and before you know it, you're both chatting up a storm.
Though she was his queen, Alaska was not Grullo's mate; her title was earned, not granted through courtship. She and Grullo shared power and made an excellent team when they put their heads together.
Blessed with immortality and unnatural abilities, the pride widely regards Alaska as a divine being. Alaska herself does not see it this way, and as such, continues to spend her days just the same as when she was mortal. All that changes nowadays are her sweethearts -- as she likes to say.
