Profile

A grimmrgandr archdemon, a creature of great malice and vast power.

He is known to the mortals as the Many-Winged God, for during the long age of suffering he ruled over a thousand mortal worlds as a capricious tyrant. At that time he manifested as a vast eldritch creature encircled by the endless movement of many pairs of leathery wings, a horrific thing whose body boiled and writhed with eyes and tendrils. This body was slain during the War of Ten Thousand Gods by a great jormunalfr warrior, sending him back to the Ertianjie as a spirit.

In the ages since his defeat he has since clawed back much of his erstwhile power. Many of his would-be rivals among the demons ended up being felled in battles with the celestials before they could be in position to challenge him, and some may have died at his hand. He is now thought to be one of several roughly coequal leaders among the heiyao, beings ostensibly bound to the will of great Heijian but in actuality deeply hostile towards each other.

Unlike many of the other archdemons, he is accustomed to charging into battle alongside his forces, willing even to risk grievous injury if it may secure an enduring advantage over his opponents. This has earned him the begrudging respect of the jormunalfar celestials who are his most dangerous enemies, for they too love war and appreciate any who wage it with courage and determination. Respect is not the same as sympathy, however, and much effort has been expended by the warriors of the Remnant Host devising strategies with which to oppose him.

His corporeal form is terrifying to behold, towering far above even his mightiest foes and endowed with tremendous strength. It is said that the claws upon his hands and wings perpetually drip with the blood of all those he has slain, that he commands infernal fire of a sort that not even the exalted weapons of the starsmiths can withstand for long. The innumerable spines that cover his body are but the tips of many tail-like tentacles that he may use to spear assailants and drag them toward him; he may also cast them from his body and create from them thrall-creatures to fight on his behalf.
