PERSONALITY
Marie is E.M.'s mom - she is caring and kind; the best mom you could ask for. E.M. knows she's had a hard life, but that she's pulled through and is trying her best for her kid. She works as an elementary school teacher, and it's the perfect job for her. She can be stern and bold, but only when she needs to.

HISTORY
Marie thought she was in love. She was new to the U.S., a French girl running around a big city with no clue where to go. She had a basic receptionist job, although she dreamed of being a teacher. Then he came along. And Marie fell. She fell so hard she almost lost herself. But she's Marie Lacoure - the Lacoures don't give in the way that she gave.
Everything was fine when E.M. was little. Okay, maybe that wasn't true, but she would never admit it to her daughter, who asks sometimes why her father left. She must have been too small to remember what falling too hard can do; what it can make you overlook. Marie won that court case fair and square. She had the evidence, she had the bruises. She was ready to be a new woman now, one free from any sort of distraction.
E.M. is Marie's pride and joy. They have a healthy relationship, even if she sometimes regrets sending her to that school. Oh well. It's what's best for her, and E.M. seems to love it. Marie just misses her.
Marie was very close with her brother. So when he moved to America, she followed. She had alwasy wanted to visit anyway. Who knew she would make it her home.
