Vern's work partner. While Hannes clearly shows the ability and the chops to strike out on his own, he's much more comfortable being a reliable footman. (Perhaps to his own detriment.)
Believed to possibly be half English, he's never met his biological father. He was drafted to be a home front guard during his local time of 1938, but was more than eager to get the hell out of there and tag along with Vern.
