About

In a world besieged by malevolent entities that threatened to unravel its very fabric, a coalition of brave souls united to forge a solution. Among them stood a formidable figure the creator of the Passage of Grimoire and the First Knight. Her sacrifice averted catastrophe and restored the world order, but at a grave cost: she became forever bound to the Grimoire, her soul tethered to its pages. Now, her solemn duty is to seek out individuals deemed worthy of shouldering the mantle of Knighthood. Through the centuries, she traveled the world, searching for those with the courage, integrity, and strength of spirit to wield the ancient powers entrusted to them.

backstory.

As her Knight fulfilled their duty, Selene once again descended into the depths of slumber, awaiting the day when another worthy soul would emerge to wield the Grimoire of Passage. In her dreams, fragments of her past comrades danced amidst the shadows of her memory, their names lost to time, but their shared experiences eternally imprinted upon her soul. Within the swirling darkness of her dreams, Selene confronted her past self—a figure whose gaze is filled with courage and determination, standing unwavering against the encroaching darkness. It was the pivotal moment of sacrifice, when she offered her very soul to trap the ▇▇ ▇▇ within the Grimoire, sealing them for eternity. While her comrades hailed it as a miracle, to Selene, it was a pact borne of necessity, a Faustian bargain. This way of sealing entities was considered to be forbidden due to the nature of how she attained such knowledge. Aware of the consequences, Selene chose solitude after her victory, distancing herself from a world that would shun her if they learned of her deeds. The inability to fully utilize the Grimoire after sacrificing her soul severely restricted her own magical abilities. Thus, she embarked on a quest to seek out individuals worthy to inherit the mantle of a Knight, entrusting them with the responsibility of safeguarding the world from the darkness that threatened to consume it.

Then, she heard a voice, a beckoning voice echoing through the depths of her dreams. Following its ethereal call, she emerged from the confines of her cave, only to be greeted by the radiant glow emanating from the Grimoire. Ah, it had found another potential Knight. Emerging from the cavernous depths where she had rested, Selene was greeted by the heavy patter of rain. With a flick of her wrist, she conjured a simple warding spell to shield herself from the harsh elements as she followed the guiding light of the Grimoire. Selene eventually arrived at a secluded cabin nestled within the embrace of the forest. Peering through the window, she saw the slumbering forms of two young boys. Suddenly, a resounding clap of thunder reverberated throughout the forest, jolting the young Knight awake. Locking eyes with Selene, his gaze pierced through her, even though she had yet to reveal herself to him. At that moment, she sensed an overwhelming surge of magic emanating from him—a power unlike any she had encountered in a long while. As the realization dawned upon her that the fear in his eyes may be directed towards her, Selene retreated swiftly, returning to the safety of her cave. Contemplating her next move, she weighed his potential against the immense responsibility of becoming a Knight at such a tender age. Could she guide him, nurture his talents, and prepare him for the trials that lay ahead? Or would the burden prove too great for one so young?

Lost in contemplation, Selene failed to notice the passage of time as night descended upon the forest, enveloping it in an eerie veil of heavy fog. Her thoughts were abruptly shattered by distant shouts echoing through the stillness of the night. Emerging from her cave, Selene navigated through the dense fog with practiced ease, drawn by the urgency of the distant commotion. As she drew nearer, her keen eyes widened in shock at the sight before her: the young Knight, terror etched upon his face, fleeing from a menacing beast that lurked in the shadows. Without hesitation, she sprang into action, casting spells that were currently available to her to halt the creature's advance. With the immediate threat temporarily subdued, Selene turned her attention to the young Knight, his face a tumult of emotions ranging from relief to lingering fear. Though she harbored doubts about his readiness to bear the weight of a Knight's responsibility, the urgency of their current predicament left little room for hesitation. As Selene attempted to communicate with the young Knight, she quickly realized the futility of spoken words, her language incomprehensible to him. Using telepathy, she projected her thoughts and intentions directly into his mind, attempting to bridge the gap of understanding between them as best she could.

To her surprise, the boy grasped her message swiftly, his eyes alight with determination, mirroring the resolve she had once exhibited in the face of adversity. With a gentle kiss upon his forehead, she completed the Knighting ceremony, infusing him with the power needed to combat the beast. In a display of innate skill, he effortlessly sealed the creature, his actions akin to second nature. Yet, the exertion took its toll, and the young Knight collapsed in exhaustion. Swift to react, Selene caught him before he crumpled to the damp forest floor, understanding the strain of wielding such potent magic at such a tender age. Cradling the unconscious young Knight in her arms, Selene made her way back to the safety of their cabin, only to encounter his frantic friend in search of him. Revealing herself to the friend, she was met with a reaction mirroring the young Knight’s fear from earlier. Puzzled by their reaction, Selene couldn't help but wonder if her appearance is truly that frightening.

Personality

Reserved. Empathic. Diligent. Selfless.

She exudes kindness, her gentle smile a beacon of warmth in a world fraught with darkness. Soft-spoken by nature, she finds solace in the art of listening and observing, preferring to offer silent support to her peers. Ever eager to make a positive difference, she exudes enthusiasm in her endeavors to uplift those around her.

Despite her perpetual smile, she carries a vulnerability beneath the surface, sensitive to the opinions of those around her. Reluctant to voice her own thoughts, she often conceals her inner turmoil, opting instead to repress her feelings rather than risk causing problems. In a world already filled with difficulties, her sole desire is to sow seeds of happiness and spread positivity wherever she roams.

When interacting with her, she offers clear and short responses, as her mind will easily be overwhelmed by excessive detail. Forgetful by nature, she relies on her Knight to jog her memory, often forgetting tasks or conversations moments after they occur. Though initially resistant to change, the passage of time has bestowed upon her a newfound openness, particularly as she awakens to the wonders of the modern age.

Abilities

Her familiars are crows, and she can see through them. She typically uses them to keep track of her surroundings.

She alters between her spirit and physical form. She uses her spirit form to hide, but there are certain beings that can see her. Her spirit form also isn’t able to hold anything physical. In her physical form, she can experience pain, but any injuries sustained will regenerate. Any damage on her dress will also disappear too.

Due to her limited use of magic, she can only use simpler versions of spells she once knew. For example, prior to her sacrifice, her healing spells were able to heal any kinds of ailments or injuries, no matter how severe. Now, at best, her healing magic is only able to heal small to moderate injuries.

She has the ability to enter dreams and bless people with good dreams.

Superhuman strength. She was naturally born with it, people assume it's one of her blessings from the Moon.

She is a sword master and specializes in great swords. Her sword is imbued with the blessings of the Moon. Certain malicious entities really avoid it like a plague, as being near it is enough to make their skin melt.

Trivia

She speaks in a dead language that cannot be heard by normal means due to it requiring a deeper understanding of magic.

The only way she communicates is by gestures or projecting her own thoughts or intent in your mind. Can be headache inducing to people who aren't perceptive to magic, but it doesn't take too long for someone to get used to it.

FG NOTE: For non-serious threads, she'll be able to speak just fine! :>

Selene isn’t her real name, she has forgotten her real name after living so long. It was a name given to her by Max.

One of her favorite inventions of the modern era are neck pillows, and noise-canceling headphones.

Although not necessary, she can eat and drink.

She can sleep anywhere and everywhere. Standing, sitting, upside down, etc.

She has slept by the edge of a cliff, Max came rushing in just to pull her out.

She sleeps constantly like a cat, and has been caught sleepwalking too.

Max brought a reclining chair to their hangout cabin. It is now her favorite resting place.

She can be quite difficult to wake up.

She has been scolded before after entering her Knight’s dream without their permission. Now she asks permission from her Knight, unless it’s an emergency.

She disappeared for a long while after Max became a Knight, because she needed to find her sword that she lost.

She is able to use her sword just fine, but she trains and lends it to her Knights as it is an important part of their arsenal.

Her veil can disappear and reappear anytime she wants.
