tbh i never had a legitimate backstory for nemui so let me just shoddily make one up on the fly
As a child, Nemui was always a curious child. They always were intrigued by the people around them, how they acted, and all of that. They were seemingly pretty smart as well, considering they usually got A's in most of their classes, math and science being their strong suit. At the age of 14, Nemui began studying human behavior. It was more of a pet project, but became more and more serious. After a few weeks of research, they realized how they could control behavior, or predict it.. This led to them also researching hypnosis, and its effects alongside human behavior. And then, the Nemui we know and love was born at the age of 15. Already researching so much at a young age, they were pretty good at what they did. They knew how people would react or behave in a handful of situations, and they also began to practice hypnotism, usually on their family.
They became a world renowned hypnotist, and people already were keeping their eyes on them. Considering hypnotism is a very rare practice, they got paid a lot just to showcase it in areas worldwide. This also led them to travel a lot, which they've always wanted to do. They even got enough money to get surgery to transition. Their life had been so good!.. up until that moment.
