The youngest and weakest Kagawa family member, though also the most sociable and outgoing. Koji Kagawa is known to be a very outgoing and caring person, taking the time out of their day to try new things and meet new people. They currently live in an apartment with the rest of their family (besides Kion), and often goes off to work a night shift job at a cafe in the city. Finding mundanity in every day life, they are always looking to spice things up.

Koji can be found in a wide variety of places, trying not to make it a habit to show up to the same places every day except for work and to go home. They are often found wandering about the city, inadverdently making it hard to get a hold of them without calling or texting them. They often have a spontaneous attitude about life, taking it as it comes and constantly finding entertainment in any dark corner.

Koji is very often seen as immature and unable to take most things seriously when they're around strangers, but that couldn't be further from the truth. While they may act chipper, unassuming, and naive in front of other people they don't trust as much, they actually are very observant and can be quite petty if rubbed the wrong way. They get jealous easily and always try to seek out anything to find pride in, feeling that if they can't succeed at something, then it's not worth showing other people at all in regards to themself. On the other hand, if you manage to get them to trust you and have them open up to you, they will be more comfortable to go blank around you in order to give their emotions a break. They are an actor that's basically made for the stage, with the lies and deceit to back it all up.

Psychic Magic

The one submagic that Koji is best at, they seem to be rather adept at any spell involving the psyche. While not being able to outright attack with this sort of magic, they can weasel their way into the minds of others via their spells and often uses this to their advantage.

Shapeshifting

Able to turn into any animal that currently lives on the planet Earth, including those that are not yet discovered by other sentient species. They are able to change at will, though becomes melty once they reach a certain point, at which point they'll need to rest in order to regain their ability to change forms. Overexertion can be deadly as it can inevitably lead to suffocation.

Parkour

Koji loves to take advantage of their litheness in order to get around the city, which often leads them to scaling walls and jumping from rooftop to rooftop in order to simply feel the breeze and to seek out a little bit more thrill from life whenever they get too bored.

Reading

Namely, Dystopian, Horror, Mystery, and Sci-Fi strike their fancy, though they don't mind the occasional Fantasy novel. They are a young adult reader that often prefers books that don't include romantic subplots. They spend their time thinking about the books they're reading about and tend to compare reality to fiction.

Exploring

Though the city is only so big, Koji loves to explore it alone on his freetime, taking it as a bit of a challenge in order to see if he can memorize its whole layout. To this day, they can vaguely remember every alleyway they've been through and knows the routes that are most effective for them when in a hurry.

Adolescence

Koji lived a semi-normal sort of life, growing up as a surprise twin to Kion and a younger sibling to Michio. Their mother and father moved locations while they and Kion were just babies, so they barely remember their previous place of residence. They moved into a more urban location, having earned enough to move to a city instead of being left out in the suburbs of a busy magical city. They never quite got the complexities of modern magic until they became a teenager, so until then, they were amused by simple magic tricks and quick trips to the apothecary and tea shop. They find that their best moments in life were spent with their twin, along with their friends in school, which they treasured very dearly.

Not wanting to go into school alone, Koji stayed by Kion's side, mostly socially leeching off of him until they gained confidence. In the time that they spent in elementary and middle school, it quickly became apparent that the two were nearly inseparable, even if they made friends with different people. Slowly, Koji spent a few years making friends with each and every one of their classmates with Kion's help, wanting to get to know each and every one of them no matter how they treated them. However, they found joys in pranking some of their classmates, thus being labelled the class prankster, and not for very good reasons. Eventually they learned to keep quiet about their classmates' secrets, just in case any would begin to bully them, and learned to be more discreet about the information that they picked up on.

High School and Beyond

Once making it into high school, Kion made it apparent that he wanted the two of them to become their own people and not just be stuck by each others' sides forever. Reluctantly, Koji agreed and started to search for things that defined them without Kion's help. They made it to the point where they signed up for theater, becoming one of the theater kids mainly because they found their energy very curious. They eventually learned techniques that they still use in the present, and from that point on learned how to treat the world like a stage and life like their very own role to play.

Admittedly, they were a bit jealous of Kion due to the success that he found in school, but tried to brush it aside as they went about life. They missed being inseparable from him, so eventually the two started hanging out together in their last year of high school. They always envied the amount of attention that Kion got and often wondered why he got so much attention and they didn't. They kept quiet about their issues, though, due to their concern over Kion overworking himself growing more than their jealousy ever could. Once the two graduated, Koji was ready to call quits on education as a whole, but was disappointed as Kion expressed his interest to continue into university. Because of this, Koji grew distant from Kion, despite also wishing for him to go off and do great things. They reluctantly wished Kion farewell as he moved into a cottage out in the Daunting Forest after graduation, accepting the fact that they would start seeing each other less and less once Kion started his university education.

However, just a few days after Kion's first term was supposed to start, he returned home much to Koji's excitement. It had turned out that Kion was quitting his university education to focus on raising hatchlings in the forest, though he would still be around more often than if he were to go off to university in the first place. Accepting the compromise, Koji kept an eye out for Kion as he came back every weekened to be with the family. Though, eventually they noticed changes with Kion's appearance. It seemed as if he grew horns and had different ears on certain occasions, with scales to accompany it. Having their suspicions, they planned to go and find Kion's cottage one day in order to figure out what was going on with him.

He ran into Kion in the forest, but at the cost of getting the two of them into danger. Kion fended off an attacking lycanthrope, only to turn into a feral dragonborn before their eyes. They quickly used their magic to calm his conscience and managed to bring him back home, leaving it to Michio to care for him and nurse him back to health. They only learned what Kion was cursed by in that moment, from then on secretly promising to him that they would be there for him no matter what.

The next evening, Koji went with Kion to make sure he was able to obtain a cure for his curse. While not being able to be fully cured, Kion was promised that he would keep his conscience in Dragonborn Form. However, this came at a cost: a werecurse that Koji decided to keep secret from him for the sake of keeping him happy. The two of them returned home, and Koji made sure to take care of Kion in the time that they were together.

A couple months later, Kion left the apartment without Koji knowing, prompting them to go and chase him down at the Daunting Forest. They found him by a lake, having shifted into a pure Dragon Form complete with its own separate conscience and no memories of a human life. Koji still secretly took care of him in the shadows, eventually bringing him back to his cottage when he turned back into a human under the new moon.

From that point onwards, Koji was determined to find a way to communicate with Kion while he was in Dragon Form. He began searching up ways to learn the language of Draconic, only to learn there are specific vocal chords only possessed by dragons needed for the language to be spoken. They eventually found a solution in a shapeshifting trial, found in a book that belonged to a nearby library's catacombs. Confident that this was the solution, Koji quickly convinced Kion to come with them before leaving the apartment.

The two found the book, and Koji faced the trial. They passed the trial, but at the cost of a week's worth of trauma all condensed into seven seconds. They obtained shapeshifting abilities, though also an eldritch form against their will. Nowadays they spend their time trying to figure out how to control their shapeshifting abilities along with wrestling with their newfound self-image problems, feeling as if their conscience no longer matched their human body. Because of this, they changed their hair color, beginning to grow their hair out and making sure that they could focus more on their relationships with others than themself.
