Personality

Thay changes her outward personality depending on the situation and who she's talking to. She puts on acts to improve her social interactions, or simply to better fit the current scene. These adjustments to her outward character are performed effortlessly and quickly; one moment she may be serious and even voiced, the next doing an energetic twirl sporting a cutesy tone. Despite the inconsistencies her core values remain unchanged and she is fully aware of the acts she puts on. The changes are a conscious choice and a glimpse into Thay’s willingness to give up her own sense of self to become one with everyone else.

Default Outward Personality: Thay’s ‘default’ outward personality is… plain, simply put. She speaks with a controlled tone, displays limited emotion, and is entirely in control of herself. While in this default state she tends to underreact to events and speak of even the most absurd with a straight face.

Empathetic: Thay is highly empathetic to others, though not in a ‘I see the good in everyone’ kind of way. In gaining the memories of others she also gains a sense of who they are, and seeing as she has a photographic memory, Thay will always hold a piece of them within her own consciousness. Becoming the link between all people is more than just by bloodline- through the acceptance and understanding of all cultures, religions, superstitions, and beliefs, through the obtaining of countless memories, she wants to truly understand everyone- even if that means losing herself in the process.

Efficiency and Competitive Drive: Inherit to her inoian bloodline Thay is hyper efficient. She can’t stand to be idle and will always put forth the extra effort to optimize a task. This results in Thay eating things like soylents and nutrient bars unless actively experiencing food for culture’s sake, only sleeping for as long as is required, and in always having a book to read in case she has to wait for something.
Inherit to her ixan bloodline Thay has an increased competitive drive. She can’t say no to a good challenge and doesn’t experience discouragement if she loses one.

Flirtatious: She'll flirt with anyone, and do a whole lot more with them if she gets the chance, too. ANYONE. 

Design

Thay is a bit below average height, with tan skin and a fit, though not strong, build. She is conventionally attractive, with smooth skin, nice curves, and all the other usual feminine features.

Her eyes are a light gray color, and her long straight hair has some thickness to it. It starts black but gradually changes to white in a smooth gradient.

Starting at the corner of her eyes are tattoos resembling leafy branches and vines that go down a ways to the side of her face, down her neck, and then horizontally along her collar bone.

Thay’s wings, when manifested, are dragonfly wings made of light colored olive green and brown.

Her hair styles are inconsistent- down, ponytail, braids, buns… as are her clothing. Great care is put into her appearance, but her clothes are a coordinated mismash of styles plucked directly from a couple of cultures. They generally accent her figure, are geared towards warmer weather, and feature earthy tones.

General Abilities and Racial Features

(Summary)

Martial Artist
Knows a few forms of martial arts, though none involving any sort of weaponry. A mastery of body and mind honed by discipline. She’s fit, but not particularly strong. Her strong suits are more in balance, flexibility, and knowledge on her own limitations.

Collector of Culture
Thay has miscellaneous knowledge on culture, history, superstitions, and religions and will only continue to add to her growling knowledge base.

Phasing
Thay can become temporarily intangible by converting her form into light. She can only stay in a phased state for as long as she can hold her breath, and while phased light-based attacks deal a lotta damage. Being shined on by a basic laser pointer hurts while phased, and if affected by something that refracts light like, say, water, then it can actually refract her very being and basically kill her.
So yes, water guns and laser pointers can deal real damage to her.
She cannot phase others or most objects (phase-cabale clothing is a thing!) and while phased she can harmlessly pass through objects, walls, and people.

Flight 
Thay can summon dragonfly wings made of light to hold her aloft which also gives a good boost to speed. These wings are susceptible to damage via laser pointers and water as well. Sustained wing use requires a high amount of sugar in her diet to support the plant-like structures that form them.
So, it’s more meant for height and general movement than any kind of long-distance travel. No trips from Vita to Desol this way.

Ixan Frailty
Thay isn’t particularly tough or enduring- think of her as having lower HP and defense.

Resistance to Cold, Insensitivity to Heat
Her inoian bloodline grants her resistance to cold temperatures at the cost of sensitivity to heat.

Improved Memory
A magic gift granted to Thay by her inoian blood; Thay has a near-photographic memory and can essentially store more memories than most people. This obviously meshes super well with her psionic-memory shenanigans.

Inoian Form
Thay can tap into her inoian ancestry and take on their form; a huge, onyx scaled, winged serpent. While in this form all of Thay’s usual tricks still apply- so this is a giant dragon capable of phasing and dealing psychic damage on contact.
The only problem? She can’t stay in this form long due to the risk of literally overheating to death, or just lacking the calories required to fuel such an energy-intensive form. The most she gets is a few crucial minutes, and afterwards she’s exhausted, requires food, and might be suffering from heat stroke.

Psionics; world tree

(Summary)Thay is a powerful psion.

One with the World Tree: Thay is aware of the general location, status, and can gain information on those who she is blood related to so long as she is on a planet with a compatible individual. This isn’t helpful here in Vita, but it’s very important to her character.

Thay believes that it is her destiny to unite all peoples on the same family tree, no matter the apparent distance. She is to become one with all, a branch of the tree that one day shall be united in turn with every other tree of every other world, with every other instance of Thay. If it sounds crazy, it’s because it is. Functionally all this means is that she wants to truly understand people, as well as expand her family tree by… Well, the means are pretty obvious. All that results in for Vita is that she will flirt with anyone and everyone until told not to.

Visions of Other Worlds: Most ixan seers receive visions of the future, but Thay is no typical ixan seer- she receives visions of other worlds, sometimes of the future, sometimes of their past or present. These can be mundane or useful, like receiving a glimpse of a negative outcome and thus learning how to avoid it, or as incomprehensibly maddening as looking into a world in which she has never existed and for that brief moment feeling at one with that nonexistence. Visions are largely involuntary and situation-dependent- in times of stress or crisis they are more likely to crop up, but Thay can attempt to focus her visions on the current matter.

This mainly results in bouts of Thay being disconnected from her own reality, or going out of her way to avoid something that may or may not even occur. It’s intended to be, basically, a source of madness for the character- but also something that can be weaponized to become a source of madness for others given her memory-exchange abilities.

Memory Exchange on Contact: Making physical contact with Thay results in an exchange of memory. The memory exchange is typically of the moment of or just before contact, like a snapshot of what was happening in that moment- their drifting thoughts, feelings, physical state, etc. all wrapped up in a second’s worth of memory.

These little glimpses aren’t inherently harmful though they can be disorienting or distressing. Prolonged contact to Thay’s memory exchange gradually drains psi points which does result in ill effects, but this also enabled a sort of crude telepathy.

For Thay occasional contact with people helps to balance out her own psi points, which if stored in excess results in more frequent and more wacky visions. So essentially, occasional contact is healthy for her, but weird for others, and potentially exhausting to both parties if prolonged.

For funsies the memories exchanged could be more exciting if the mun wants, through, like, say, important backstory (or more likely trauma, let's be honest.) Or if the muse’s thoughts just so happen to divulge information in that moment of contact.

Thay can suppress this occurrence but at the cost of her own psi points, and only with concentration. Otherwise it is entirely involuntary.

Controlled Memory Exchange: Thay can focus her memory exchanging abilities to be something less spontaneous. It still requires contact, but she can bring forth a memory from someone’s past, having both her and them relive it. She can also share a memory of her own, or a memory that is now hers that was gained from someone else.

She can’t alter or delete memories, only bring them to the surface or share them. Her improved memory means that they are always accurate- so the truth can’t be obfuscated by her, and even if she tried the memory would become hazy and obviously fake.

The exchange can be resisted by an individual in a sort of ‘make a wisdom saving throw’ kind of deal, and some characters might just be completely immune. In the end we’ll do what’s fun or makes the most sense.

Psychic Damage on Contact: Thay can weaponize the memory exchange by making the exchange more potent resulting in a steeper loss of psi points- basically her punches deal psychic damage.

An individual low on psi points will take physical damage though less in a metaphysical way and more so in that the synapses and electrical connections of the mind are influenced, resulting in headache, migraines, mental fatigue, trouble concentrating, and if dangerously low it can just render them unconscious.

Thay herself only has so many psi points, thus having visions, viewing or sharing memories, and too many involuntary short memory exchanges can also drain her psi points and have her suffering these ill effects.

Another means of dealing psychic damage would be to share a negative memory- from something simple like an embarrassing or painful moment, to the memory of one of Thay’s incomprehensible visions. The downside to this is that Thay herself also, at least to some extent, relives the memory too. She may be more accustomed to glimpses of other worlds than most, but it still isn’t healthy to relive things like that.
