The illegitimate third child of the deceased former head of Gray’s Iron Artillery, Lavender Gray never really had to worry about filling big shoes one day. That problem was reserved for her older siblings after all and so long as she didn’t besmirch their family legacy in any way, she could basically do whatever she wanted.

But Gods above, she would love to besmirch the hell out of it.

Lavender hasn’t always been as loud and proud of a person as she is now. In fact, she was a very quiet child who didn’t dare to speak out of turn in fear of angering her mother. She was terrified to her core of Violet Gray—and for good reason—which is why it was like walking on eggshells being around that woman. And though Lavender would never admit it, her mother dying felt like a huge weight off her shoulders.

She practically transformed after Violet passed away, turning more free and outspoken while being raised by her two older half siblings. Not only did Lavender finally become more at ease in her own home, but more comfortable with speaking her mind. The only thing she wasn’t content with was, well, herself. Being made to hide the fact that you’re a Semiferum all your life can leave quite the mental scar. It’s kind of hard to truly be comfortable in your own skin when you were raised not to be, after all.

Regardless, Lavender became more open and rambunctious—being a person who can and will get in your face if she so desires. She soon uses that newfound chutzpah to her advantage, eventually pursuing a musical career with her friends for a while. However, she went solo after a little incident that happened between her and a certain bandmate one summer. Even though she is a well known performer, one of the most notable things she does in the eyes of the public is attending Semiferum rights rallies.

Despite all the changes she went through, Lavender still remains the broken little girl she once was underneath. That part of her never truly went away, it instead going into hiding. Honestly, one could argue that she acts the way she does in order to cope with her tumultuous early childhood, but that’s neither here nor there. At the end of the day she tends to keep that sort of stuff close to her chest, letting little to no one in. If she does let someone in, they should consider themself lucky.

Puppeteering

Inheritance related. Lavender’s Inheritance quite nicely fits into her own personal interests. In fact, it’s one of the reasons she got into playing music in the first place. Her Inheritance allows her to control a person’s movements all through the sound of her playing an instrument. This feeds into her fighting style in general, having a lightweight electric guitar specifically made for combat along with a set of small, amplifying speakers that sit nicely at her hips.

Night Vision

Race related. Being an Alligator Hybrid can stick a person with any of that animals traits, and Lavender is no exception despite her very few physical traits. She has an alligator’s tapetum lucidum—a layer of cells located just behind the retina. As a result, Lavender basically has night vision, being able to see better in low light conditions. Something that negates this however is the use of her contacts.

Musicality

Frankly, it’s quite clear what this means. Lavender is not only able to play the guitar (both electric and otherwise), but she can also sing, write her own lyrics, and compose her own instrumentals. You don't become the leader of a well known indie band by slacking, after all.

Vis Based Combat

Vis—a type of ammunition derived from the six Elemental Gemstones of Akwan—is key when it comes to Lavender’s fighting style. Each of Lavender's guitar strings are infused with a different Element, which then allows her to unleash deadly attacks through sound waves. She prefers to use Lightning Vis the most, this primarily being for the sake of irony.

Lock Picking

As someone who used to tip toe around her parents out of necessity at a very young age, she picked up a thing or two. That and well, Lavender is both nosy and used to break into her teachers drawers for test answers back during high school.
