• The quiet darkness of the libraries, lit only by magic she carries with her.
• Her two cats, named after long dead gods.
• Meticulously brushing dirt off of newly rediscovered ancient artifacts, gathered from some ruin or other.
• Solitude. Whether out on a digsite, in the comfort of the libraries, or on walks under the stars.
• Ancient languages, and the secrets deciphering them teaches her about ancient peoples.
• Extremely comfortable in both the indoors and outdoors.

Dislikes

• Loud social gatherings, the bright lights and clamors of others being much too overstimulating.
• Realizing she has traversed much too far into the depths of the library, or even ancient ruins. Now lost.
• Meetings.
• Her own distrust of strangers, and by extension people in general, due to repeated kidnappings.
• Confrontation, any sort in general with anyone.
• Her spaces, official or unofficial, whether actually hers or only hers in her head, being messed with.

Hobbies

• Cadence devotes so much of herself to her work, there honestly isn't much time or energy left for a whole lot else.
• Absolutely spoiling her cats with the finest goods, food, and costumes her wages can afford.
• Using work as an excuse to neglect her health, care, and the cleanliness of her living space.
• Stargazing after everyone else has already gone to sleep.

Skills

• Familiar, and even able to readily translate several dead and historic languages. Being multilingual except with languages no one uses to talk is nice because that means you don't actually have to talk to people with them.
• Despite having often shaky hands, she is able to use enough care and precision to treat artifacts delicately in order to study them.
• Reading even when it's really, really dark.
• Conducting thorough research, using her extensive knowledge to uncover hidden secrets and forgotten lore.
• Blending into a crowd if need be. She has mastered the art of appearing unassuming, no matter the costs.
• Problem solving, whether it's complex puzzles, mysteries, or cryptic riddles.
