Profile
Enrique is not a sociable man. He's gruff, irritable, and cuts to the point. Perpetually on edge, he finds it difficult to relax without alcohol, and has developed something of an unfortunate drinking problem. Like a cat, Enrique is excellent at hiding his problems from other people.
Still, in a crisis, Enrique is efficient and strong. He is loyal to a fault and will do whatever it takes to protect his friends and family, including putting himself or others in harm's way. He has a self-sacrificing streak and would jump in front of a bus to protect the people he loves - even if he would never admit he loves them.
A quick summary until I have the energy to flesh this out: grew up poor, served four years in the military, struggled to pay for his sister's medical bills, unwittingly ended up working for a vampire or other supernaturally altered person and was picked up by the Illuminati as a result.
Enrique is a short yet muscular Latino man. His hair is kept cropped short and his body hair is thick and coarse. His hands are rough and blocky, yet surprisingly nimble and precise. A distinct scar cuts down across his right cheek. He rarely smiles. When not in uniform, he dresses in earth tones: brown, dark green, and navy, and wears crew-cut t-shirts with coarse jeans or khakis.
Compared to everyone else, Enrique's behavior towards Drake is practically clingy. He genuinely enjoys the man's company and is content to sit with Drake and listen to him talk. Drake's the only man Enrique feels he can relax around.
While Enrique finds Chiang's knowledge set useful, he can be somewhat dismissive of her ideas. Enrique thinks he's the voice of reason, but Chiang thinks she's the voice of reason, and it brings them into conflict. Despite this, they work best together, at least on the good days.
Enrique finds Dennis, a sociable and flirtatious man, to be absolutely insufferable. While he can hardly stand the man, he doesn't raise much of a fuss about it, instead stubbornly refusing to engage in the hopes that Dennis will eventually get bored of him. Unfortunately this has only encouraged him.
Enrique is quite wary of Vesta and never lets his guard down around her. Yet, though he'll never admit it, he admires her strength and power. But he won't let that distract him.
