He used to work as a city guard in his hometown for several years. But after an incident while on patrol, a good friend of his and fellow guard, reprimanded a noble. His friend was in the right, but the noble was infuriated. Several days later, Heron’s friend was found dead, but there was no proof that the noble was involved, the noble was not charged even though he was the clear cause of it. Paranoid, Heron became uncomfortable living in close quarters with members of the upper class, despite knowing that this wasn’t something most of them would do. He moved to a very rural, forested area and took up the lifestyle of a hunter. Heron was 18 at this time.
Several years later, Heron meets Feris, a demoin man who he mistook for a beast while hunting and nearly hit him with an arrow. Feris was clearly a noble of some sort based on his clothing, but thinking Feris was younger then himself as well as Heron feeling guilty for nearly shooting him, Heron let his guard down, and seeing as Feris was lost. Invited him to stay at his lodging until he headed into town the next week.
Unable to find out anything about Feris after going to town, and unable to learn any helpful personal info from Feris (Feris intentionally kept anything he said about himself ambiguous), Heron decides to let Feris stay with him. Heron still feels bad about almost shooting the kid; and because Feris always seems to move very slowly, Heron worries he might have some sort of physical ailment and doesn't want to abandon him.
Little does he know that his new companion, Feris is actually the dethroned king of a neighboring country, known by the people as a wrathful and wicked king, and most likely one of the most powerful mages on the planet Terra Siraerin.
