Aurantius always aims to keep his true self a mystery. He may be fearful and overly secluded, he still values his relationships with those around him. He tries to always act in line with his values even if said values are fast and loose.
He was born into the line of royal fools who are secretly changelings. Many years ago, the prince was nearly assassinated, but due to being in the right place at the right time he accidentally found himself being the hero of the day and was promoted to Royal Advisor and accompanies the prince at every moment, becoming his closest friend. The head of the royal guard, Nolan, had longed for that promotion his whole life, and thus started a rivalry with him over his desire to be closer with the prince. Even though the pair banter, they still consider each other friends. They have even shared a drunken night or two together before.
