backstory

luna lives in the wof AU i currently have, as well as all of my other ocs.

luna's mother and father decided to live in the rainwing kingdom. they then had luna's egg, and decided to keep it in their comfy home, making it a warm nest of blankets and pillows by her mother's bed. her parent's room had a very large window, as her mother and father loved to gaze up at the night sky, as well as the treetops during the day. luna's egg happened to catch moonlight on her hatching day, which caused it to turn a shiny silver. only one moon was full on her hatching day, which gave her the power of mind reading.

luna went to a daycare every weekday so that she could learn. one of the dragons teaching at this daycare named nightshade was very close with her, and one day, during nap time, woke her up and took her into a private room in the daycare where he molested her. luna didn't really understand what was happening, but she knew it was very wrong and very bad. she cried out for help, and nightshade hissed at her, threatening to hurt her if she got help. luna knew, though, that nightshade didn't have rainwing venom, because she heard him think it a few times before. a few seconds later, a little mudwing barreled into the room, looking worried. "did somebody call for help?" he asked. he took one look at luna, and his brow furrowed. "what's wrong? nightshade, what happened?" he asked, looking up at the defective rainwing carer. luna burst out into tears, running over to heron. "h-he touched me!" she sobbed, hiding behind the large, 3-year-old mudwing. heron seemed to quickly understand, and charged at the scrawny caregiver, sending him into the wall of the hut. "don't EVER touch her again," he snarled, whirling around and putting a wing around luna. "are you okay?" the little magenta dragon nodded. "okay. you should prolly go home...i dunno if i'd come back here if i were you..." he mumbled, frowning. "p-please come with me! i don't wanna go alone," she pleaded, her voice quivering. heron smiled sadly down at her and nodded, the two walking out of the daycare. he walked/flew her home, and when they reached her house, she asked him where he lived. he paused for a second, shifting on his talons. "w-well...i don't really, er, have a home..?" he said a bit awkwardly. "well, why don't you just stay here then? i know we just kinda met, but i don't want you to not have anyone at all. that's no fun," she said, scanning his expression with big, gold and purple eyes. he smiled happily. "okay!!"

while luna's parents were a bit hesitant about taking heron in, they realized that he was just a 3-year-old dragonet, and had no one to turn to. from then on, heron and luna grew up together, sharing a room and almost never leaving each other's side. luna's parents also had two more children, the second oldest, being her little brother, named starchaser, and the youngest, being her little sister, named blackice.
