Oobleck is evil, mean, and a giant angry boy set for revenge. Whether he plans to take over the world, destroy humanity, or merely ruin everyone's day is up for debate.
He's always grumpy, and refuses to cooperate with most people. He spends all his time plotting revenge against the people who hurt him, and sometimes people who did nothing wrong often come into his sights as well.
He's grounded in a pickle jar for now, which his brother, Derek, likes to carry around all the time to show Oobleck the world. Derek thinks Oobleck can change.

Deon was one of the few scientists allowed to be near him, and eventually Deon had been allowed to observe him on his own, without his peers. Oobleck hates him, but doesn't let anyone else hurt him - he'd rather do it himself. Deon, despite everything, lets Derek keep Oobleck around, and hopes one day the little Oobie he knew would shine through.
• Brother •
Derek is Oobleck's brother, and as such, Oobleck won't harm him. Physically, anyway. Oobleck sometimes escapes being grounded to steal Derek's pizza or to rip apart his stuffed animals. This doesn't help how long he's going to be grounded for, but he claims he feels satisfied after ruining someone's day. Derek constantly tries to teach Oobleck how he be nicer, but whether or not Oobleck actually learns those lessons is unknown.
