> MAJOR SPOILERS FOR BALDUR'S GATE 3/DARK URGE STORYLINE IN THIS PROFILE <

***

•He/Him; cis man, gay; adaptation of my non-fandom affiliated OC with the same name

•He is the Dark Urge, a bhaalspawn who once led Bhaal's Temple beneath the city of Baldur's Gate. Before his lobotomy and subsequent amnesia, he was the Chosen of Bhaal and closest companion/lover of Enver Gortash.

•As an infant, Gabriel was 'abandoned' and found by a couple from Baldur's Gate, becoming their adopted son. His father was a follower of Lathander, and his mother a former Lolth-sworn Drow who had escaped the Underdark. In his younger years, he was a perfectly normal boy who loved his parents. When the Urge first erupted forth, he brutally murdered them on pure instinct without a single recollection of having done so. From that moment forward, he was the true child of Bhaal, inevitably corrupted and deprived of all innocence.

•Gabriel led his true father's Temple and collaborated alongside Enver Gortash to form the plot of the Dead Three, eventually growing closer to the man than he ever had with anyone else. With power came arrogance, however, and the violent envy of his younger sister Orin sent the entire house of cards tumbling down. Gabriel lost his power, his memories, anything other than a meager existence as a walking corpse. He seemed to be dead in every way that mattered... until waking up on the mindflayer nautiloid, surrounded by fire and still gnawed upon by the Urge.

•Though drowned in a sea of blood of corpses, thriving off of murder and betrayal, Gabriel is not entirely chaotic nor feral. He is surprisingly pragmatic and charismatic when needed, easily able to fool people into seeing him as just another adventurer. The man lives to see the dawning horror on people's faces as they realize what he actually is. He also emotionally manipulates his companions to have them depend on him, and encourages their darkest impulses, but still 'cares' for them in a messed up way-which makes sense, considering his entire life. Gabriel simultaneously only needs them for their power and will lead them to their ultimate destruction, but damned if he doesn't enjoy their company and the "normal" moments.

•His relationship with Gortash is as toxic as any relationship between two evil men should be, but surprisingly loving in the only way they know how. Gabriel will not allow ANYONE to hurt, let alone kill the man other than him, and is driven into a volcanic rage when this exact scenario happens in the confrontation at the Morphic Pool. Enver is one of the very few, if not the only person he has ever mourned after becoming the Dark Urge. Losing him was like having half of himself torn into pieces. The tyrant knew exactly how to play him, Gabriel was nothing but a puppet on a string with their games and his affection, and he found himself not minding that. Gabriel made everyone pay for the crime of ever putting their hands on the man that was his: Gortash's parents, Raphael, that pathetic waste of a guard who once tortured him in the House of Hope... what joy he felt to make them all suffer.

•The scar on his face is from the day he murdered his parents. After realizing what had happened, before being greeted by his butler (and by extension, Bhaal), Gabriel was utterly broken and in despair over what he had done without meaning to. In a fit of frenzied screaming, he dragged the bloodied knife in his hand across his face as a form of self-punishment, an attempt to die slowly. The scar used to look a lot worse, and even now, it's still very prominent. Gabriel also has scars on his scalp, neck, and across most of his body, but these are well-hidden.

•MaximumSnow and I have a running joke that in our shared BG3 universe, he and their Durge are twins, caused by Bhaal accidentally fucking up while creating the Dark Urge. "Oh goddamn it, now there are two of them!" Cue shenanigans. Lethe refers to Gabriel as "Durge's gay brother".

•Like any decent Dark Urge, he cannot get enough of roasted dwarf meat. He also has a little collection of macabre items, including: a severed hand (not Gale's), a severed foot, a dead rat, a dead pixie, and eventually, the literal corpse of his murdered boyfriend (he didn't do this, shockingly enough). Yes, he's normal, very normal.
