I was trying to claim you in the random thoughts thread, but got sniped! Here are my thoughts on toothpaste because i have nowhere else to put thrm now, and toothpaste is cool!
-I love toothpaste’s design! The turquoise and blue goes great with the brownish-oranges, the contrasting colours add a lot of visual depth and are quite eyecatching!
-the choice of a flying squid as species is also super cool. There are a LOT of neat cephlopods, and i’m happy to see a splatoon fan who is taking advantage of that fact! If i was to make a splattoon oc maybe theyd be based on a dumbo or vampire squid.. those are just off the top of my head though there are SO MANY SQUIDS AND OCTOPI to explore! Super fun! And you added so much lore to the flying squid inklings, it makes me happy how thought through and detailed they are!
-i agree with her on seagulls. They are just so confident and full of bravado that they are enchanting to me—even if annoying to others. It also fits with her intense, loud personality that she would like such a strongly-personalitied bird.
-the seabird motif with her is quite striking, and it makes for cool markings.
-omg aromantic character! Yay!
-i like how she collects toothpaste merch and products, and also *named herself* toothpaste! That takes dedication and passion(and perhaps a love for mint…)

I can also answer some of the questions you asked!!
- The 3D model of her was actually edited by me in Blender!! I took an inkling model from the game (+ the models for her clothes) and modified it!! Stuff like changing the textures and adding new parts to the model (like her fins and eyelash things!)
- I think the specific cause for the scar on her eyebrow was the horn/point on Hoover’s face cutting her. He has a pretty sharp point at the end of his snout and I believe when she was holding him as a baby, he unexpectedly started thrashing which caused him to accidentally cut her across the face. I don’t even think he remembers this happening but she still has the tiny almost imperceptible scar!

So I’m not familiar with splatoon outside of brief glimpses I’ve seen if it online- do Toothpaste was essentially my introduction to the series- and I gotta say she made it a fantastic first impression ❤️
I adore the vibrancy of her design and how well it reflects her personality- which Is honestly my favorite part about her. It’s super obvious to me that a lot of time and effort went into developing her, and that shows in how well she’s fleshed out. The flaws you’ve given her (particularly her tendency to poke fun at others as a form of affection but sometimes taking that a bit to far) make her feel super realistic while also giving her a surprisingly amount of charm. She gives off a really cool “main character” vibe. Like if you could hang around her irl you be in for a good, crazy time (that probably ends with a police chase). I love u Toothpaste, your the realest one ❤️😎
The design is so cool and the whole aesthetic of the profile is very pleasing, I really love the mix of mint blue and electric blue, it seems really cool, also, the whole oc seems like very Greta in term of personality and lore wise, I need to read the rest to have a clear opinion!!
