Dusty is energetic to the core. With so much energy at his expense, he is rarely seen sitting still for long. Dusty is always seen in high spirits or in a generally sparky mood. He approaches every day with happiness and optimism, taking joy in even the smallest things in life. When talking about subjects he has interest in, he is able to keep talking for hours on end, usually being quite knowledgeable in the areas of his interests. His high energy is often in contrast to his peers, with most of his friends, family or other citizens of the Plateau finding it hard to keep up with.

He is quite playful and cheeky, his friends are no strangers to his silly antics. He enjoys being able to make others smile and laugh. When others are feeling down, he will often be the one to lift their spirits, whether it be him intentionally trying to cheer them up or simply being around his happy and positive demeanour brightens their mood. His childish behaviour often leads others to misjudge or underestimate him, and although he may come across as oblivious to his surroundings because of this, he understands things more than they may realise.

Dusty will always treat others with kindness above all else. Whether it be a friend or complete stranger, Dusty has no problem with trying to help or cheer up someone who is in need. He finds it easy to talk to others and will always try to make people feel included. He is also hyper-empathetic, seeing others cry can make him burst into tears himself. While he finds this helps him to understand others more deeply, high stress situations and other people's negative feelings can also quickly become overwhelming for him.

Dusty has the ability of luxmancy, giving him the power to manipulate light to his will. With his power he is able to move beams of light. The rays of light that form these beams are diffused, appearing soft around the edges rather than appearing as a solid beam. The beams have a faint warmth to them, but they are unable to cause any damage to other people or to their surroundings.

Dusty's powers only work if he has access to a direct light source. He is not able to summon these beams out of nowhere, and is essentially moving/redirecting light that already exists. His power is not limited to sunlight, as he is able to concentrate and redirect the light of torches, fires and any other light sources. His beams will only be as bright and powerful as the light source he is using for his magic.

Though the light beams don't do any physical damage, Dusty is still able to use his powers in combat. He will often use it to shine light directly into his opponents eyes, momentarily blinding them or, at the very least, causing them to close their eyes or avert their gaze to avoid having light shone into their eyes. He has also been known to shine light at his friend's eyes as an occasional joke.
