Kodan is a very stoic person. It is virtually impossible to tell how he is feeling at any given moment from his facial expression. Though his constant impassive expression can make him appear intimidating at a first glance he is actually quite caring and very sympathetic towards others, caring deeply not only for his friends, but also for total strangers.

He often is in a state of melancholy, feeling despondent and unmotivated. He tends to interalize his own feelings instead of talking about them, because of this he can often become stuck in his own head with his thoughts. His inability and unwillingness to express his deepest feelings to those he's close to can make him appear emotionally distant.

Though Kodan usually isn't much of a talker, when he does finally speak up he will be very straightforward and truthful with his words and responses. He won't sugarcoat a situation and will be very honest and upfront about how he percieves a situation. He is incredibly responsible and has a deep concern for the safety of others. It is these qualities that often lead his friends to go to him for advice in times of need.

As part of his village duties, Kodan is one of Litus' main fishermen. He and Sicilia are mainly tasked on the riverside route for fishing. They will follow this routine daily, usually heading out at the crack of dawn for the best catches.

Kodan mainly specialises in angling, using a line and hook to reel in fish, but he and Sicilia are also quite skilled in trawling. The method of fishing they will use on any given day changes depending on the weather and water conditions at the river that day.

As well as the previous methods of fishing, Kodan also uses a form of cormorant fishing, often being accompanied by his fishing bird companion; Philomena.
