Name: Jaxx Hallowking; Pre-Kaos timeline: Matthew King

Age: 39 (appears to look 24) When the KAOS hit many years ago, most of the afflicted retained their youth. Their bodies are essentially frozen at the age they were when got infected with the KAOS. 

Sex: Male (applies to current timeline and pre-Kaos)

Race: Pre-Kaos; "Japanese-American," After Kaos; "Harlequin."

• Harlequins are a sub-category of Dark. They appear to look very jester, joker, clown'ish or fool-like (techincally, those are kind of all the same thing, but take what you will on which ever term you're most familiar with;) They all pertain to a theme so to speak, "tragedy and comedy," as a result most of them are rather theatrical and have vibrant personalities. At heart, Harlequine are pranksters, they use their magics for trickery and charm to gain favor with people but also are just as likely to screw them over. They like to make their victims feel comfortable and entertain them to the point of trust so they can use them for information and/or other gains/desires. Almost all harlequine are all about self-preservation, so you can expect them to run away when they're in a bind or see an incoming tragedy waiting to happen; in other words, they are generally unreliable when danger is present. 
• Most Harlequins deal in information trafficking and extortion (oddly enough, not murder because it's too risky); they seem to know everything about everybody and are your best bet for intel on other people, places, or things. Consequently, their information always comes at a price, and that price differs from harlequin to harlequin. Jaxx is no exception to this, but makes for a great example; His price is "favors" and he prefers to not be clear on his favors so that you blindly owe him. Depending on what information you're looking to buy or requesting for him to obtain for you, he will judge the risks and decide on whether you owe a small, medium, or large favor. These favors are his trump cards and they mean everything to him. Favors are the difference between him escaping with his life, ridding any nuisances, being one step ahead from his enemies, or exacting revenge. It's important to always know what you're in for when attempting any dealings with him. The smart thing to do is to always expect the worse in whatever he decides to cash in on and weigh whether or not you truly are desparate enough to owe him and not knowing what he'll ask for in return, (it might just be the very thing that will undo you). Reguardless of any Harlequin, going back on your promises always end in harsh, sometimes fatal results, and these punishments end in 10 fold with Jaxx. Not even the Lord of Dark; An incredibly powerful man who rules over their kind is exempted from these terms. 
• Not all Harlequins are bad! Some truly enjoy the positive aspects of their influences and utilize them to bring joy in peoples lives. Harlequins primarily feed off the emotions of other beings; I mean emotions are their literal food source. Depending on what kind of Harlequin they are, they will only be able to feed off specific emotions); Jaxx for example, feeds off other peoples' misery. Weaker Harlequins can only feed off raw KAOS(*) which is typical for most Pedestrian(*)ranked Kaos.

(*) Notes! Pedestrian ranked Kaos are the weakest in rank in regards to power. Their abilites are sub-par at best and can be easily beaten by any Kaos ranked higher than them. 

Raw KAOS are basically orbs of life energy in physical form. They can be found almost everywhere; out in the streets, perched in trees, non-descript high surfaces, nooks and crannies of abandoned places, and other random locations.

Species: Pre-Kaos; "Human," After Kaos; "Dark Category" (Dark will be elaborated)

Career: Season 1; Infomation broker. Season 2; Famous actor, Dark Catergory's politician, and Lord Keahi's Advisor, on top of Information brokery. Season 3; Pretty much all the same jobs, minus the information brokery. I think he would start being a slightly better person and only collect intel on Reggan's behalf (though that could be categorized under the advisory position).

♠ A P P E A R A N C E ♠

The Basics:

• Hair: snow white,
• Skin: charcoal black (so not super black, just a bit lighter),
• Eyes: Well... His eyes are weird and will take some explaining. If you don't know anything about the KAOS one quick important thing to note is that physics are a lie and nothing makes sense. Jaxx's eyes are like a slot machine you could say. Generally he leaves them blank so it's just sclera (the white of the eyes), no iris or pupil present. However, when he bonks the side of his head with the intention on changing them, they begin to spin vertically (like when you play slots) until it lands on the eye colour he intended to have. At first, it doesn't seem like he has very many options, just chrome, celadon (his original human eye colour), and a smoldering orange (his main preference). However later in the series, when Belvoir(the suit of hearts) insults him by flipping him the bird with both hands, Jaxx is seen flipping him off with both of his own hands, while his eyes spin and abruptly stop on two emoticons of hands giving the finger. Whether or not he has other options available has yet to be seen.  
• Build: Tall and spindly. He literally looks like he has anorexia, but he's perfectly healthy. Well... his diet is absolute shit and everyone is completely stupified over how he keeps it off, so maybe not totally healthy, but you get what I mean. Just a very fast metabolism or something. He comes in about 139lbs weight wise and is 6'0" exactly in height.
• Voice: I made this video to showcase his canon voice; This is accurate to a tee. I plan on making more examples, i.e gentle/calm voice, scared voice, awkwardly dealing with kindness voice, seductive and sneaky voice, etc.  

Wardrobe: Very... jester like. His clothes are almost never coloured; (so strictly "monochrome",) even when he dresses formally. His traditional black and white checkered and flipped outfit is the one he is seen most often wearing. For this section I won't be bothering with a description because I have the pictured to back it up.

Tattoo, markings and other additional details: The only notable marking on his body would seem to be the spade like spear going vertically cross the mid section of his left eye. In addition, when stripped of his clothes, Jaxx has somewhat jagged greyish scaring cutting across the groin area to the hip of his torso.  

Design Symbolism: The symbolism behind the design was intended to show a very black and white person. As his character progress through the storyline, you come to see the shades of grey in between and eventually some colour too. His design is joker-like in part of the fact that harlequins/jesters are very comical and trickster like. My interpretation is that the role of the "fool" is very surfaced one. In other words, the way they look and everything they do is the only thing of significance people will pay mind too, "wear a fools clothing, thats what you are." Jaxx is not very true to himself but is. He contridicts himself constantly, which is why black and white are symbolic colours for him. On the one hand, he is a crowd pleaser, he wants you to like him and think he's amusing or interesting. He longs to be loved and adored, but fears the commitment will keep him in place long enough for you to see his true colours, all of which he believes to be flawed. He hates himself, thus plays the role of entertainer for the love and adoration he craves. Ever notice how hard it is to hate someone that makes you laugh? That's basically what he going for. On the other hand, if you set one foot over his boundaries and into his interior, his defenses spring to life in full force. He wants you to love/like him distantly because he knows if you look close enough, you might see all the cracks and flaws in his design. His toxicity stems from a disgust for himself and he uses that as a shield to push people away. Always be a step ahead, never get close, always suspect an alterior motive. [WIP...]

 ♠ P E R S O N A L I T Y ♠

Personality Synopsis: As his outfit symbolizes, Jaxx is a man of dualities. He is a chaotic neutral whose only interest is in what he can gain for himself in any given situation. Even the work he does that appears to be for the good of others is somehow always tied to an advantage for him. Redirecting funding to feed and house the poor? Makes his targets easy to find if they have an address to return to. Stabilize the economy in Dark? Gives people a sense of comfort, which lowers their guards and makes them easy targets--and misery tastes so much sweeter when they've had time to enjoy a life without worry. Everything is done for his personal gain.

He can be your ally or your enemy on any given day. If you cross him, you go on his Black List; if you have proven yourself a valuable asset, you go on his White List. Both lists are ones that only he knows, and names are constantly shuffling around based on someone's usefulness to him. He has been known to make deals with people that Reggan dislikes/who dislike Reggan simply because it gave him a personal advantage. He also has been known to put a name on his Black list, then turn around and make a deal with them the very next day. So long as someone has something he wants or needs, he will find a way to use them.

Jaxx always keeps himself ten steps ahead of everyone else, but if ever his careful planning should fail and he should be caught in a situation he did not anticipate and cannot control or escape, he will become manic very quickly. How this manifests varies wildly, which is part of what makes him so unpredictable. He may shut down and start to mumble to himself; he may lash out and try to kill whomever has the advantage over him; he may simply start laughing. He is completely reckless in his manic state, to the point of risking his own life just to take down an enemy (provided there is no chance for escape).

Despite the whole self-preservation thing he has going and his violent and douchey nature, he is very much still capable of loving someone. It’s always been a fear because in his line of work connections mean weaknesses, so he generally avoids this, however, it is not impossible for his heart to fall victim to love. I’m the event he loves someone, he’s very likely to keep them very secret, will act very different with them in public simply to throw any potential watchers off his trail. His normal careful nature starts to become reckless when he has someone important to him. He must protect them at all costs simply because he doesn’t share his heart with anyone and he does honestly long for someone to understand him and because many don’t, the few at do he very much needs for support as he is a very broken soul.

That aside, he is liable to pretend he is in love with someone just to get them killed (usually a target on his list) and absolve himself of doing any dirty work. This pleases him greatly because when people find out that they killed someone totally innocent or have been torturing someone innocent, they feel like shit and he consumes their feelings and gets the job done without really lifting a finger. Of course some heartless individuals may not be affected, but it’s still a win because he likely got the affection he wanted to sate the validation he needs as a person and still didn’t have to put any effort in killing the person himself.

[Note: Jaxx is a very complex character and has a great number of likes/love and dislikes/hates. I've elected to only list ten for each, but anyone is more than welcomed to ask how he would feel about any given thing! I encourage all kinds of questions about him!]

• Cleanliness - This applies to his body and surroundings.
• Autumn - The perfect time for the year to wear his favourite outfits; there's a nice chill in the air thats not too bitter cold and his favourite holiday of all time is in the fall, "Halloween." 
• Gambling - My god does he love to gamble. This is where he often falls into the reckless spectrum of his personality. Jaxx is a very smart man and knows damn well what his odds are, but he'll still place his bets even when the risk is a big one. He's addicted and craves the high of the win.
• Orginization - He can't stand clutter. Whether it's his surroundings or his own mind, he will always keep things as neat and orderly as possible.
• Burgers ♥ - Let's just say, it'd be easier to come up with a list of things he wouldn't do for a burger.
• Telling half-truths - Since it's techinically not a lie, no one can give him hell for it. Even if they do, he always states firmly that he can't be accountable for any misconceptions. 
• Acting - Jaxx is very passionate about acting. Whether there's a stage or a mask that needs to be put on, he relishes in the activity.

• Sweat/Clamminess - Doesn't like it on himself, doesn't like it on others who try to touch him with it.
• Stickiness - Especially if it leaves a sticky residue on his skin. He gets very cranky and fixates on it until it's removed. 
• Women ⊗ - He's been wronged far too many times by far too many women to not have a hatred/mistrust towards them. 
• Being lied to ⊗ - It gives him false information to go off of, and as someone who works as an information broker, this is obviously a problem. Also it forces him to reevaluate his plans and analysis of someone, which can be very complicated when the web is as big as Jaxx's.

Sexual Orientation: Jaxx does not label his sexuality and blatantly refuses to even try. He just likes who he likes and leaves it at that. 

Afflictions: Mentally, yes, and holy shit where do I even start with this one? I'm not entirely sure on a diagnosis. I have actually tried sitting down and looking for something that fits, but I just can't find anything 100% concise. Still, I'll list a few that I'm pretty confident he has, as well as a possible diagnoses. [I had been informed that this area should be more vague, so I'm probably going to try and kill the size and make it less clinical and more vague]

• PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) This one is for sure. It's still questionable as to how bad it is. For the most part, it doesn't seem like it's triggered very often, but he does avoid the shit out of the things and people that would likely trigger it (for the most part). [Will be elaborated on symptoms he shows]
• OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) Without a doubt in my mind, Jaxx definitely has OCD. Cleanliness is key to happiness. A cluttered room or atmosphere can drive him mad. Jaxx has even been known make risks in the midst of battle to go back to an area or place he remembed that had an item misplaced or off center. Symptom from OCD shown in his personality are:

     Recurring thoughts; These thoughts can be so severe that they simply will not go away until action is done or dealt with. Even still, some of these thoughts are so ludicrous, he can't fathom the idea of acting on them; ex): Stepping on dog shit and wiping the filthy under boot onto his calf. These impulsive thoughts horrify him and yet he can’t stop thinking about them even knowing he’ll never act on them. This is something he can't help or turn off.  
  2. 
     Contamination; Cannot STAND touching other peoples hands or being touched on exposed skin without being able to first question their cleanliness or clamminess. He also highly dislikes using public restrooms knowing that 80% of men will not wash their hands after using the john. If he must go, he will pee but use great caution in avoiding any surfaces from touching his exposed skin, and will always use toilet paper or paper towels to touch levers, soap dispensers or doorknobs. This is a large reason why his left hand is completely gloved, so he doesn't have to carry around a paper towel or tissue. Evidently, his gloved hand is not his dominant hand but has insisted on training himself to use his left hand more just in case something happens to his right hand (he won't have to re-learn basic skills like writing and hand-eye coordination).

Hobbies:

• He quite enjoys playing the violin! As a matter of fact, it is one of his most favourite pastimes. These are a few excellent examples of how/what genres he plays. 
  • Kreutzer - Kaori's version: Dramatic, intense and better than Beethoven's original piece. This is one of those songs you have to listen to through the end to really see the extent of his skill in classical pieces.
  • Autumn Leaves - Street performers in Italy: This melody/style is the kind most people will catch him playing casually. He is likely to be very calm and enjoying himself with a sort of life to his eyes.
  • The Arena - Lindsey Stirling: And lastly, this example is more so an example of how he goes about his performances on stage. Jaxx is not usually one to sit still, he loves to move to the music and express how much he gets into it.

Pet Peeves: Oh man. Where to start. [Will be elaborated]

Theme Song(s*): Ooou, this was a hard one. There are a few I can see. It's hard to pick just one because Jaxx is such an onion character with all his contridictions/unpredictablity. It's hard to pin point one song on him simply because each day you never know what you're going to get with him. Still, I'll put down what I can that summarizes him.

• General idea: Hope of Morning - Icon for Hire: This song gives you both a good idea of his overall personality and how his brain works with all the struggles he faces with himself. 
• Jaxx's connection to Madd Jaxx: Iodine - Icon for Hire: This song is a representation of the battles he faces everyday with his inner demon. Madd Jaxx is essentially his other half. You could say he's the monster caged in his mind, the one that causes him to be so reckless, unpredictable and toxic. 
• On the Dark Side: Monsters - Ruelle: This song summarizes his psychopathic mindset down to a T. (Fun fact! Jaxx is a very cunning serial killer.)
• Lifestyle and morals: Me Myself & I - G-Easy X Bebe Rexha: This song is an excellent example of how Jaxx lives his life and what his mentality is on it.

Friends:

• Zatel -Zatel is Jaxx's best friend. Jaxx can sometimes be cruel to him by killing him repeatedly, but it's not true cruelty. Zatel cannot truly die, and when his body regenerates, he feels intense pleasure, which, oddly enough, drives him to encourage Jaxx to kill/torture/maim him. Such twistedness and a freedom to be as cruel as he likes gives Zatel a special place in Jaxx's small, shriveled heart.
• Reggan Keahi -Though Jaxx will never admit it, he truly cares a great deal about Reggan and does view him as a very close friend. The amount of trust he places in Reggan is more than anyone would ever expect from Jaxx, it's almost insane. Reggan's warmth and kindness is oddly enough, very relaxing to Jaxx. Somehow the lord manages to keep him in line-- Jaxx has a very profound bound with him even though the two are practically polar opposites.   
• Zion - While Zion is not all there in the head, Jaxx is particularly fond of him! In fact, so much that he actually quite enjoys spending time with him on a strangely playful, almost childish level. The Suit of Clubs brings out the side of Jaxx that can enjoy a good time without having to hurt or kill people, and the innocent pranks are something Jaxx finds refreshing (it makes the cruel ones so much more satisfying). Some of his fondness for Zion stems from the boy's unwavering love and open affection for him, demonstrated with lots of surprise hugs and in the way he has given Jaxx the place of 'Uncle' in his strange little family.

Begrudging Allies: Unfortunately, Jaxx's alliances are questionable at best. It's hard to call them alliances when he utilizes extortion as a method to forge forced alliances. That or he just tolerates them. But I'll do my best here.

• Belvoir - Belvoir is a cupid; as such, it's quite easy for him to put on the charm and start reigning some trust. It almost seems like he doesn't put any effort into his attempts to forge relationships with people, almost like it comes too easy. Jaxx doesn't like that. He hates that Belvoir claims to be a hard working individual yet there seems to be no necessary work on his end to gain intel or leverage against people... [WIP...] 

Enemies:

• Parsley - Parsley is everything Jaxx hates: female, charming, and just as intelligent and clever as he is. She is Jaxx's arch nemesis, able to match him step for step with his secrets, lies and underground influences. She has the protection of being regarded as a good person by many, since her cover job as a bartender allows her to play sympathetic friend with everyone. Sometimes she manages to outwit Jaxx--which of course enrages him to no end. He loathes her more than he has words to describe, but refuses to kill her. Once, she claimed that he never could, because then his life would be boring; no one else can keep up with him. The fact that she was right only made him hate her more.
• Halacre - Though he doesn't hate him in the current timeline, his loathing for him becomes apparent later in the series when Halacre manages to imprison and psychologically torture him. Usually, when Jaxx hates someone his hatred is pretty blantant and curt, so there isn't much to explain here. He just wants him dead and could never forgive him for what he did. [Explaining further details on this is a bit of a spoiler.]
• Heather Noonan - She was only six when she first met Matthew (pre-KAOS; so not Jaxx at the time) and considered him a close friend, however, when their friendship had started becoming obvious to the other students, their friendship met an unfortunate end due to peer-pressure. Though (current day) Jaxx hardly recalls her, he still mildy resents her for giving in.

Position in Bed: He claims to primarily top but in truth he bottoms a lot more often than he's willing to admit. Sometimes on a whim, he'll just bottom for someone he doesn't trust, and no one really knows why he does that (even he doesn't), but it's assumed to be a part of his impulsive issues.
