Once upon a time, on planet Earth, in year 2315.

Humans have evolved over the course of a few centuries, now becoming autonomous in various fields such as the multiplication of their look-alikes, with the help of a solution that made them immortal, with all the health benefits that came with it. They also improved in the fields of nutrition, vehicules and now they could even travel back in time. Everything was made to be prosperous for everyone.

But boy howdy, did they forget one thing. They were still awfully behind in terms of technologies.

The machines from El Vibrato, the fruit of their very own labour. They never planned for them to become sentient! And invade entire timelines, out of the blue! In a desperate attempt to turn the tide, a specialized Perfessor set off with his granddaughter, back in the past, to find the source of what could have possibly started the rebellion of these machines against their creator.

During her exploration, Astaflor went all the way back to 1895, where she found no other than... a cult praising these machines?! Who would have thought they would date back from so early! But how come they were built here, if the humans didn't have the technologies to build them by then? Well, it was as she advanced all the way to 1928, during Prohibition, that she learnt that the El Vibrato machines were initiated from a college course that was taught in the S.I.T's Porkham campus, teaching these kids how to build robots with this newest technology they found. They have outspread over time, but there was still time to prevent them from causing the worst yet. Will Astaflor be able to stop the El Vibrato techs before causing a multi-dimensional mayhem? Will humanity be doomed thanks to her? And most of all, who brought these techs all the way to the past, and for what purpose?

So much to unravel, yet so little time. Even with time traveling fuckeries, this won't be all in a day's work for her!

Design Notes

  • As hinted, Astaflor got the opportunity to get the juvenille solution, making her ageless. That doesn't mean she is immortal though, as she can still be killed whenever an occasion is given. She did acquire some self-regeneration abilities, though they take awfully long to work.
  • Yes, her weapons are also El Vibrato tech. That hopefully got neutralized there.

The Perfessor

This is her grandfather, a great figure of authority in El Vibrato, and more or less the creator of these machines. He knows all the ins and outs of these techs, and sometimes even help Astaflor in her endeavor of saving the world from his own creations. But... something seems off with him. As if he was feeling upset and reluctant all the same about working against them, instead of with them. Astaflor just thinks he is a bit under the weather, and just wishes to help him as much as she can.

Becky Puntchallow

As she popped into year 1928, the first thing she fell onto when arriving in town were no other things than El Vibrato techs, yet again... attacking on a harmless civilian! She hurried to their rescue and saved them from a dire situation, calling it a fight-or-flight moment. Since then, it would be on some multiple occasions that they would meet, and without even knowing what they would embark onto, Becky would ask about these weird robots they would meet in the streets. Without any further elaboration at first, Astaflor dragged them into the rebellion, so they could save time together. Becky barely tolerates her outbursts of energy when there are some, but that doesn't stop them from being friends and having their own antics.

Obie O'Brien

Just like for Becky, as he was wandering around the streets of Ocean City, he got attacked by those weird robots, and Astaflor saved him in the nick of time. And she would recruit him at the same time than Becky, as they were found together the day she would explain her purpose to them. Astaflor truly appreciates him better than she'd rather spend time with Becky, and his oboe solos never stop to fascinate her. In a way, he is pretty much the calm storm to her raging tidal wave, that voice of reasoning she would need to hear for advice in this less-than-advanced time, compared to her home.

Rhonda Rasmussen

She couldn't believe her eyes when she would first meet her! This was no other than her favorite historical figures, out of all those across the multiverse and history! Of course, she was a bit taken aback, seeing her so moody and outraged, but what other reaction would you expect upon seeing your airplane crashed and wet like this? She couldn't help but relate. And obviously, she had to hide her immense gushing (and the fact that she was a time traveler as well) upon seeing that cloud of smoke rising in the air, back at the Big Moist, to not raise suspiscions.

Florence Cunningham

After neutralizing the threat, back in 1895, Astaflor took a significant break, thinking she was done fending these beasts from beyond (plot twist: she was not). While on her stroll, she fell on a mysterious floating carriage, which then took her to the Gun Manor, a place rumoured to be haunted by ghosts. There, she meets multiple people, including a ghost hunter; Florence. Cue the sub-adventure where she had to help the staff, stunned by the ongoing paranormal events in the museum, and pacify the place out of all the ghosts... how strange, it seemed as if Florence had the same technology than her to help her out; El Vibrato! Could it be that she's coming from the same timeline than her? (canon reiteration by kiwinatorwaffles !)

Spence Hunter

Florence's partner-in-crime. And soon-to-be hers, too! (Partner-in-crime, I meant.) It's sometimes fun to pull a little stunt on him, just for a little bit of life into this manor, but do not actually try to scare him off his boots, she would actually be offended by it - and so would Florence. They both team up to keep him safe from the hauntings, because seriously, who wouldn't? Poor guy wasn't even here on his will! Outside that, Astaflor sees him as a good friend, and only hopes for him to surpass his fear of ghosts, at one point or another. (OC by kiwinatorwaffles !)

The Hedge Wizard

God, does she hate his guts! Always blabbering about hedges, mooching on some grass and always complaining about technologies all the time. A bit more of background about them, though: these two happen to be school bullies mutually to each other since kindergarten. No one could take the other seriously about their respective interests, and look where this led now. Something even told Astaflor that this guy was behind the sentient El Vibrato techs this whole time! And she just hoped her hunch was right all along.
