About
Leah seemed to be set up for failure and misery from the start. She has a soy allergy while being the eldest child of Chinese immigrants, unable to enjoy most of her own family's cooking and being a horrible role model for her siblings. She tried to make herself interested in whatever jobs were most stable or successful -- law, medicine, robotics, the likes -- but nothing captured her as much as the art of Western cooking: no soy, no pain. She aspired to become a Chef-Magi as early as middle school.
Her parents naturally disapproved of her dreams and pushed her to major in Robotechtronics instead, which is how Leah ended up at S.I.T. Still, she's secretly honing her cooking skills and using her time alone to achieve her dreams of Cheese Wizardry. However, her misfortune doesn't stop here: after her parents insisted she must pay for her own tuition, Leah scrambled to find a loan. Unfortunately, this tangled her up with the mob, where Don Toblerone blackmailed her into doing their dirty work, lest they expose her to her parents.
Despite being trapped with the mob, Leah makes it to the final break in her senior year before she starts to have strange dreams about shadows and curses and attacked by frightening monsters in the halls. This is when she meets Tam Foolleray and Austin Dieot, two adventurers looking for a supposedly cursed book to track down their missing family. After finding out that the other two have also been having strange dreams, she joins the party to discover the source of shadow creatures that have been interfering with her studies.

Leah only really focused on the chef part of her class up until this point, so jumping into battle is a new challenge for her. Regardless, she develops new skills to slow down enemies with the elements and to support her party with healing meals, since they so often forget to heal themselves.

Leah achieves all her goals through hard training and studying, as she learned from her upbringing. She is strong-willed, constantly seeking ways to improve, and quick to learn and grow. In a team setting, she is great at noticing and picking out the logistics and small details that others tend to miss. For example, she often notices when her allies are low on health and moves to heal them before they even realize.
However, Leah is easily frustrated when things don't go her way or when she has difficulty learning something new. Her eagerness to prove herself and succeed as a magician has clouded her judgement of self-accomplishment and taking things slower. She likes to consider herself as independent, though in actuality, she just sucks at accepting help against her own pride.
As such, she feels uncomfortable when her peers or teachers look out for her, taking it as patronization or helicoptor parenting. Her refusals tend to come off as rude or egotistical. On top of that, she has a tendency to obsess over small details of her abilities, making her difficult to approach when she's in such a mindset. Interacting with Austin and Tam starts to challenge these beliefs with their combined persistence and understanding.

Leah met Tam and Austin at the Seaside Institution of Technology. She "helped" Tam with the cooking minor (she actually let Tam use her unfinished cooking) to achieve a perfect score and Austin to obtain all the extra credit in Robotechtronics. Seeing Tam's badassery in battle also made Leah realize that she also liked women all along. Cue the pining, panicked bisexuality, and lots of well-meaning saxophone tunes from Austin.
Later on, as their relationship progresses with more romantic tension, Leah learns that Tam never stayed in one place for too long due to a fear of commitment. Leah and Austin help her overcome this just by being good friends, and Leah shows that she is able to keep up with Tam's pace, no matter what she chooses to do next.
Leah met Tam and Austin at the Seaside Institution of Technology. She helped Tam with the cooking minor to achieve a perfect score and Austin to obtain all the extra credit in Robotechtronics. Leah recognizes Austin as another passionate artist, but she can't help but to be put off by his overly-concerned treatment towards her. Later, she does warm up to him and slowly learns to accept his help.
The two are similar in that they're equally passionate in their craft, and they love listening to each other about what they do. Austin loves to talk forever to Leah about his music, and he listens just as intently about her magic. This solidarity eventually makes them very good friends.
Leah was fascinated with Ivy's adventures in history class and unknowingly saw her as a celebrity crush. She respects Ivy greatly and regards her much more formally than the other two, but Ivy assures her that it's fine to be casual.
Simone is one of the only other girls majoring in Robotechtronics at S.I.T., so the two naturally became friends. Leah envies Simone's passion for Robotechtronics and sometimes wishes that she could've turned out the same. On the other hand, Simone is very interested in and supportive of Leah's goal to become a Chef-Magi. As such, Simone also follows along to accompany the group for a part of their adventure.
Molly and Leah knew each other, having both worked under the mob, but neither liked each other all that much. Leah regarded Molly as dangerous and unruly, while Molly saw Leah as weak-willed and submissive. Truth be told, neither of them liked being under the mob, but Molly stayed for the good pay. However, upon witnessing Leah breaking free from the mob's shackles, she began to reconsider her options, joining Leah and her friends on their quest as a companion. The two girls got to know each other better and formed a friendship during the journey!
Leah's first encounters of Noël was in her dreams, where she viewed Noël as an impressively powerful wizard, if not a little weirdly obsessed with Crimbo. Upon actually meeting her during their solo encounter at The Big Moist, however, Leah realizes just how scary Noël truly is, despite her cheery attitude. Noël says that all wizards are a little bit obsessive, and Leah is disturbed by how accurate the statement actually is. This makes her more aware of her own obsessions, and she vows not to go down the same path Noël did. Oh, also the two have crazy beef over Crimbo, with Leah's family not celebrating it and all.
Leah holds a burning resentment towards Don Toblerone, even though she appears to be putting up with his tasks. She continues to tell herself that she'll break out and rebel against him once she grows strong enough, but she is always too anxious to try. However, after finding out Tam directly stood up to the mob and told them to screw off, Leah gains the courage to start standing up for herself. By the end of the adventure, she fully overturns the mob's control over her (by kicking Don's ass and then later leading to the mob boss) and is free from her debt.
Leah is both sympathetic towards Betty's dealings with the shadows and also inspired by just how strong she was, resisting and holding onto hope of seeing her family again. She is also happy to meet a fellow Chef-Magi who is still in training, even if their classes are different.
