Mingwu was among the oldest gods in the Shanjin region and had been acting as the ruler of the underworld ever since she was formed for that role. She likes mortals (or at least, she used to), but they have grown to dislike her more and more with every generation.

Despite being one of the most important gods, Mingwu doesn't sit with the rest of the pantheon. Instead, she watches those in the afterlife, making sure their transition into death and the afterlife goes smoothly. She isn't the one who takes souls, nor is she the one who judges the goodness of a person -- she only watches the afterlife.

Mingwu tries to be benevolent. Tries. However, that's quite hard when most of her people are convinced that she's the bringer of everything bad. It also doesn't help that most of the other gods are scared of her, even though she can't even kill people. She tells everyone that's the job of Sishan, the Reaper, but who ever listens?

She continues to do her job, though, as the world would collapse without death. However, that doesn't mean she won't make a few pardons for her godly duty...
