Qizhen is a priest serving at a temple for Chengyu. However, he began to grow fed up of the gods for never seeming to actually be actively improving the living conditions of their people. Plus, they never seemed to respond to his requests! Clearly, the gods have gotten lazy, and he has to be the one to fix it. Or even better, tell them how to actually do their job.

He began by seeking out Mingwu, the Goddess of Death, for any insight into the gods' weaknesses. Fortunately, Mingwu was also fed up with how the gods and mortals treated her with such stigma. She told him about where the ancient Calamity was last sealed and just let him do whatever he needed with that information.

Qizhen then proceeded to seek out the Calamity's last resting place, finding a petrified old god with remants of the curse slowly beginning to seep through her cracks again. He absorbed the power for himself, becoming the Calamity's next vessel -- only unlike the previous time, he had full control over the forces.

With the Calamity present in the living world, gods began to vanish once more. Qizhen used this ability to generate panic and discontent towards the gods, which worked! Now, he just has to continue testing out his power and targeting other increasingly important gods to get the pantheon's attention...
