An outgoing, friendly, and incredibly thoughtful woman who works as a graduate student in the psychology department, Hai's soft, sweet demeanor masks her deep sense of dissatisfaction with her place in life. She serves as the coven's pseudo-therapist, and her alter ego is Cure Azure.

In sharp contrast to her partner Azar, Hai excels at communicating with others. She's an extrovert through and through, but a quiet one - Hai exudes sweetness and calm, and that in addition to her friendly, open affect makes her extremely easy to trust and talk to. She's also phenomenally empathetic, feeling others' pain as her own and always considering the effects of her words...if she likes them, that is. Despite what others might think, Hai is nowhere near gullible. Because she's so acutely sensitive, she's incredibly skilled at picking up on inconsistencies in behavior and attempted manipulation, and while she might not be as harsh as Azar, Hai can be astonishingly brutal to those that wrong her.

One of the unfortunate downsides of being as in tune with emotions as Hai is that it's very, very easy for her to get carried away by them. Hai feels everything with all the power and fury of the average tsunami, and because of that she tends to be very stubborn in her convictions - if she feels them this intensely, they have to be true, right? Hai holds viciously onto grudges and, whenever she gets struck by a stint of depression or self-loathing (which happens quite a lot, thanks to her dissatisfaction with her current job), she tends to linger on it, refusing to look to others for help and even taking it out on those who have wronged her in the past.

Hai is a water witch, and she takes full advantage of that - while (like Azar) simple control of water doesn't interest her too much, Hai adores working with potions and scrying. That doesn't mean she's averse to using her more straightforward water abilities, though. Hai serves as the team's heaviest-hitting mage, and the simple scope of her water-bending combined with her ability to freeze things make her a monster to deal with.

Hai sees Étoile as a protegé of sorts. She's able to give them advice on coping with the difficulty of being an international student, and because she's not really much of a part of Hai's life outside Coven and Cure activities (and because Étoile is such a low-key person), Hai feels a little more comfortable talking to them about her own struggles.
Hai considers Tara one of her best friends. They're both genuine extroverts who thrive on getting out in the world and having fun, and moreover, Hai really feels like Tara understands what she's going through (even more so than Azar). She's a good person to vent to and be vented at by, and while she can be a bit flippant and annoying sometimes, Hai's able to look past that and see Tara as a genuinely kind person.
Hai is able to tolerate Tara's jokey, flippant nature, but Wayra is a whole other ballpark. He annoys her to no end - she's incredibly jealous of how free to enjoy his life and study what he wants Wayra is, and his seeming inability to focus on others' needs and feelings is just the cherry on top. However, his eternally frenetic, distracted nature does mean that Hai feels a little more comfortable taking her frustrations out on him. After all, if he doesn't notice, there's no harm done...right?
Hai doesn't have words for how much she loves Azar. Their inner strength and composure, their ability to stand steadfast in the face of almost anything, and the intensity of their passion for learning and preserving knowledge never fail to astonish and inspire Hai in equal measure. However, she's incredibly worried about the future of their relationship - she wants to propose to them, but she worries that Azar would see it as a distraction from their work and decide to end their relationship.
