Kumomori is an intelligent high school student, at least that's what most people think. Although from an ordinary family that owns a flower shop, Kumomori managed to get accepted into a magic academy, unknown to most humans. As a young child, Kumomori created quite the stir in the world of magic, not to mention quite the pandemonium in the world of demons.

Everything Kumomori does is a means to an end. His focus rarely wavers from his goal. Things like contributing to society and caring about others' opinion of him do not concern him. All he cares for are those close to him (his family and friends) and gaining the power to protect them.
Although focused on his goal, he is not a complete brick wall. When he is around company he likes or is doing an activity he enjoys, he is more relaxed and amicable. Not completely though. One in his position must never let his guard down.
Kumomori is the type to make plans and follow them, but he purposefully leaves room for error. He believes being adaptable is part of good planning.
Even though Kumomori commands several demons, he is not a good leader. A leader looks out for the mental wellbeing and thoughts of their people. A master, however, does not need to. And thus, Kumomori sha'nt. After all, demons are not people.
Kumomori has white short hair and pale skin. His left eye is red while his right eye is blue. He stands 172cm (~5'8") tall with a lean build.
His outfit is a personalized school uniform at his magic academy, consisting of a cloak, sweater vest, collared shirt with a tie, slacks, socks, and loafers.

Kumomori was a prodigy, seeking power through occultic means such as controlling demons. At the age of 8, he successfully summoned a demon called Dante with an old tome he found in his grandparents' study. With a bit of quick wit and acting, albeit bad, Kumomori tricked the demon to sign a rigged contract that essentially turned Dante into his servant. He commanded Dante to teach him everything he knew about the world hidden from humans, from demons to magic.
Suspicious of his older brother's change in behavior, Kumomori follows him after school one day. His investigation is cut short when he encounters a group of demons that threaten his life, saying something about becoming the next Demon Lord. Under Kumomori's command, Dante deals with them quickly and explains it was about time for the next bicentennial race to become the Demon Lord. In order to protect his family, Kumomori embarks on a journey of gaining power, facing off the darkest entities of the world and tainting his once pure soul.
Kumomori's desire for power turns into an obsession. He cannot trust nor rely solely on his captured demons, knowing they will betray him at any given chance. So he resorts to developing his magic abilities. Luckily, he somehow has latent powers, despite coming from a seemingly ordinary family. But reading tomes and scrolls has its limits, especially when they are centuries old. Kumomori needs to learn modern magic. The obvious answer to this is to attend a magic academy, built by and for magic holders.

Himari is the polar opposite of Kumomori, innocent, kind, and gullible. As a child, Kumomori swore to protect and cherish him.
