Most people assume Jerald is an idiot upon meeting him. This is in part due to his rough mannerisms, status as a pirate, and the general perception of him as a mindless brute. In reality, Jerald is extraordinarily observant and intelligent. He notices things about people and isn't afraid to point them out. With a lightning wit and keen sense of humour, he enjoys a good back-and-forth, as well as throwing out remarks on anything he finds interesting.

Despite being a pirate, Jerald is usually calm, amicable and non-threatening. He doesn't fight without a reason and prefers to talk things out where possible. His manner has been described as bland; it's very difficult to provoke him and he never seems to get angry when insulted, making him the complete opposite of his captain, Zach. The only thing that does make him angry is seeing someone hurt his loved ones.

Jerald isn't particularly good at planning and has a "go with the flow" attitude to life. He likes living without a goal, although he's capable of committing to  specific objectives when he really wants to.

DESIGN:

Jerald is a tall, powerfully-built man. He has short, slicked back black hair, brown eyes, and an assortment of scars across his body. Most of his clothes are tattered or patched in some way.

ABILITIES:

Jerald is a capable fighter. Though he tends to rely on brute strength over skill, he can throw a weapon with unnerving accuracy. He usually wields a large axe.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Jerald

The captain of the pirate crew. Sensing that there's more to Zach than paranoia and anger issues, Jerald devotes himself to becoming his friend and closest ally. He's one of the only people who can get Zach to open up about anything.

TRIVIA:

- He always refers to Zach as either "Zachary" or "captain", refusing to ever use the short form of his name. Nobody knows why.

- His battleaxe is called Harbinger, making him the only crew member with a named weapon.
