Ascian is... a difficult person to get a grip on, to say the least. Never showing emotion, with mannerisms reminiscent of a ghost, most people would be intimidated or unsettled by it, despite its lack of height. It isn't particularly guarded, but few would be brave or naïve enough to approach it, nor does Ascian know how to properly communicate with people itself. Having been raised in the Shadowfell, Ascian scarcely knows anything about average life, and feels fundamentally different from other mortals; it simply does not know how to process emotions or express itself as other people do. Ascian has a strange perspective on death, having no fear of it and seeing it as something beautiful. Due to its familiarity with death and the operations of the Shadowfell, Ascian is very passive in nature, and believes that what must happen will happen in due course.
- Ascian's name is a word meaning 'a person without a shadow', derived from the Latin 'ascius'.
- Unbeknownst to all but the Raven Queen, Ascian was born a wood elf, but was gradually changed by the atmosphere of the Shadowfell.
- Ascian's green eyes are a remnant of its wood elf ancestry. In addition, its short stature (by elf standards, at least) is a result of stunted growth from the lack of sunlight and flora in the Shadowfell, which wood elves would normally draw energy from.
- Ascian is allergic to pollen, which is the reason it wears a mask over its nose and mouth.
- Since it was adopted by the Raven Queen, Ascian uses 'dear Mother' as a phrase of exasperation (something akin to 'holy hell').
- Ascian's eyes have black sclerae, and do not have pupils.
- Ascian has slightly elongated and pointed ears, due to its being an elf.
- Feel free to draw Ascian without the mask. It doesn't have any special features under there, so just draw it like you'd draw anyone else. Its features are likely pointed and angular due to its being an elf.
- Ascian has what I'm assuming is a rat tail hairstyle, fading from its normal dull beige colour to brown. It also has a lock of brown hair on its forehead, and a brown ahoge.
- Ascian's cape has a slit on the bottom of its right (our left) side.
- Canonically, Ascian is virtually never seen without its raven familiar, Nazkhra. However, if you don't know how to draw birds, I don't really mind if you draw it alone.
