Benny

Not a player from the video game but a virus a developer downloaded that got stuck in only one server, attaching itself to a player character (getting the backstory of that character [Keane]’s brother). The virus didn’t do anything particularly harmful (besides make a couple player characters sentient) after time he grew fond of the player character. The corruption surprised him. The data for the virus was extracted from one of the players drives (after being transferred to robots) which was uploaded onto a robot to be studied closer. This robot had more slots for drives to go in case anything happened to the player characters robots, then they could all be stored on a single robot. Since the others didn’t know his name (and neither did he) he chose a random name from a list of common names.

As a robot Benny’s voice sounded more glitchy than when he lived inside the game, this would get fixed and slowly go back to being broken.
