Summersnow

Summerpaw is a big molly with a sturdy build. She’s not the tallest cat in her clan, but her body is long and her shoulders are broad. Her fur is full and silky, and she has a long plumed tail. Although a clear moggie, she has Ragdoll heritage which attributes to her size and fur length. Her pelt is primarily off-white, with patches and spots of various shades of brown. Summer is blind due to retinal damage and her pale green eyes are fairly dull as a result, though they still seem to shift when she’s deep in thought. Summerpaw decorates her fur with various small plants which she lets beetles climb onto. She occasionally wears a veil made from spiderwebs to shield her sensitive eyes. Summerpaw smells faintly of death masked by herbs.

It’s clear that something’s not quite right with Summerpaw. Quiet and wistful, it’s very hard to get her to speak more than a few words at a time—and when one is able to, her words are ominous and cryptic. She often pauses to think about her words, or perhaps listening to the instructions of someone unseen. Even her expressions seem to make little sense, from smiling mildly at nothing to silently crying without reason. Though blind, her eyes shift constantly, untrusting of almost everyone around her. The majority of the time, Summer holds a neutral expression, as if she’s trying not to let silly emotions get in the way of her tasks.

Despite her strongly puzzling exterior, Summerpaw is a dutiful apprentice. She completes her tasks without being asked and never complains of the workload, no matter how physically or mentally strenuous. Summer is driven, determined, and pristine. Unlike her mother, she is keenly aware of not pushing herself too far and remembering to rest when needed. That being said, Summerpaw has a blatant dislike of authority and is more likely to refuse to do her tasks when directly asked. She knows herself better than anyone and will become cryptically combative when others try to explain her own work to her. Flattery is amongst her least favorite things.

The circumstances of Summerpaw’s childhood have led her to be stunted socially. She is awkward and very, very lonely. She grew up being told she was special and that she didn’t need anyone but the false god she was raised to believe spoke to her. Summer continues to believe it is real for many moons after the collapse of her colony. She becomes angry and unsafe with others who cause her to doubt its existence, and is disturbed by the idea of StarClan. Over time, she will have to accept that the false god was never with her, which would lead to her opening up with others and being able to live some semblance of a normal warrior life.

Summerpaw finds comfort in the little things. She enjoys collecting maggots and beetles. She gets sick when in contact with fresh blood, but doesn’t mind things that have been dead for a while. Sometimes she scavenges for her food instead of hunting it fresh.
