Draven Deadwick

Raised as an only child for a short period of time in a well off, wealthy family, Draven was graced with the presence of a baby brother from the age of four. He and his little brother, Lucius, were constantly left in the care of a nanny or some other staff belonging to the family for years with little interaction or word from their parents aside from yearly 'meetings' to go over their academic successes and the expectation held for them by their parents.

It was a rather lonely and neglected way of living that affected them early on; alienating them from their peers and creating a distance between the very staff that looked over them as they were seen only as a paycheck or means to an end.

Through the years in their childhood, the strange energy within the very manor they called home seemed to rub off on the youngest, and affected him viscerally. His disdain for the lack of affection by their parents was rather adult in feeling but childish in how it was carried out - retaliation against those that cared for them.

The nannies that had been assigned them quickly went away one by one, and only the appearance of a fox-like fae known as 'Nan' by the two boys seemed to survive their unfortunate turn-over.

Draven used the corpses to try and revive the dead, to cover up his brother's tracks and try to steer Lucius from the dark path he was walking on. He made minute progress in his ability of magic for necromancy and more often than not failed to raise the dead that had been killed.

The brothers were lucky that the family's wealth and the uncaring nature of their parents allowed for the disposal and barring of the truth to be carried out with ease.

As they grew older still, Draven and Lucius went to respective colleges for similar but different careers and Draven offered for his little brother to live with him in the family home. Little had been changed but Lucius's rampage through childhood into teenage years had resulted in the 'unnatural' and unassuming deaths of their parents, a truth which had been hidden easily with money but weighed heavy on the conscience of the eldest of the two.

Time passed and Lucius went off to work with a colleague overseas in another country, leaving Draven to hear less and less from him as time went on. In the meantime, he met a lady who later became his beloved partner, Snow, and heard from his brother only a couple years later when he received a desperate phone call from the mortician that Lucius had killed his colleague - Victor Von Ghost - for his research and needed somewhere to flee.

Draven, ever the weak-hearted for the only family he had remaining, arranged for a train with no paper trail and managed to have Lucius moved back home in the Deadwick manor once again. Because of the circumstances of Von Ghost's death, no one knew who the killer was or what the illegal research really had been since all evidence had been stolen away, and Draven had little to do with hiding the events as it was overseas.

Since then, they've settled into an uneasy new rhythm that has only been disrupted by Lucius's consistent antics despite every effort on Draven's end to put a stop to them.
