"What doesn't kill you might leave a scar, but it'll be a great story!"

Name: Asha Coeurlstrike
Called: Asha
Gender: Female
Age: 30
Race: Xaela (mixed with Raen)
Origin: The Azim Steppe
Height: 5'4"
Build: Lithe, yet muscular
Demeanor: Exciteable

Asha Coeurlstrike, a Xaela hailing from a coastal tribe back on the Steppe. Though some may be confused by her appearance when first they see her--she has black sclera, though her scales are mostly the tan color known of the Raen. And even stranger still, her scales are dappled in a dark maroon color; it looks nearly black at night, but glints almost like blood in the light. She's of an average height for her race and gender, though it is still quite small, and she uses her small size to her advantage in combat. She fights with her fists and feet, kicking and punching and whatever else to take her enemies down while dancing around their own attacks, always staying light on her feet.

She's someone who's seen a lot of strife for her age, already covered in a myriad of scars, many of them seeming to have been inflicted by animals. She's a hunter and a fighter, and one who relishes in the glory of combat. Not just mindless combat--she's not the sort to pick a fight with some stranger over something petty. But she loves the thrill and the adrenaline, and will find any reason to spar with her friends when able.

As it stands, Asha is also currently single. She's a female that's bi-romantic, yet most likely heterosexual. She'll find interest in just about anyone, but she'd only want to get sexually involved with a male. She's not really actively seeking a partner--she's a strong, independent woman who does just fine on her own--but she would want to find someone confident in themselves, who knows what they want and aren't afraid of taking it, and will own up to their responsibilities and duties. She's grown weary of flaky men who run away from their problems in her old tribe; she wants someone she knows she'll be able to rely on.

Asha Harkhad was her original name, born into the Harkhad tribe. They were a tribe of Xaela who lived along the coast of the Azim Steppe, known for their sea expertise. They were masters of spearfishing and diving for claims and oysters, among many other sea-related skills. They were peaceful people above all else, and would do anything in their power to stay just that way; they tolerated little to no violence amidst tribe members, and had only a select few act as the guards and defenders of the tribe to ward off those that would mean them harm.

However, the Harkhad drew their roots back to a relationship between a Xaela and Raen, and, as such, the tribe was filled with members of each race. Due to the inter-mingling of the species, the scales of many Harkhads would end up a mixture of the two colors, in varying degrees depending upon their heritage. Asha herself turned out much more Raen, thanks to her Raen mother and Harkhad father whom already had dappled scales of his own.

She grew up as an only child to her parents, and she was incredibly rowdy for a child. Always running about having a good time, playing with the other kids, and getting into wrestling matches that she'd normally win, even against the boys. As she grew up, she still held her playful nature, and she had her eyes set on one day becoming a fellow defender for her tribe; she wanted to protect her tribemates and be there for them in the best way she knew how. However, she tended to still be a little too rowdy around the tribe, and that caused many of the leaders to look down on her. Not to mention the fact she was female, as the tribe tended to lean heavily upon gender stereotypes--Asha was expected more to be a mother than a fighter.

Fed up with such treatment, Asha left the Steppe in favor for Eorzea, though she still continued to keep in contact with her tribe back on the Steppe. Specifically, it was truly just one other by the name of Indranil, one of her friends from childhood. In Eorzea, she learned how to truly fight, and even found herself a mentor in La Noscea by the name of Bjolan, a kind middle-aged man who taught her the ways of the monk from Gyr Abania. She learned well under his tutelage--alongside learning the common tongue mostly from him--and spent years at his side before he decided he'd be returning towards Gyr Abania to help fight in the coming revolution. Leaving him to his devices, Asha was left to hers, to continue exploring Eorzea to see what it had to offer.

In the short amount of time between then and the present, however, her tribe continued to let her down. The would-be khan of the tribe, Siban, was a man she knew well. A man who never knew what he wanted and always shirked his responsibilities. After fleeing the Steppe to be with Indranil, Asha thought only less of him, and despised him for not owning up to what was his duty to his tribe. Sure, she may have left the tribe's home as well, but hers was a justified reason: she would not let stereotypes stand in the way of what she desired doing. Siban just didn't want to be leader, but the tribe could not elect anyone else, as leadership was passed down only through his family's line. On top of the fact that he was using Indranil as a way to physically satisfy himself without giving the other man much in the way of a true relationship, Asha renounced her ties with the tribe, taking on the self-proclaimed surname of "Coeurlstrike" for how Bjolan would always compliment her on how she could move faster than a coeurl.

Now, she's truly on her own, and while she still remains in touch with Indranil and Narin--her cousin--she's set on focusing on herself and chasing after her own dreams. She dearly misses the Steppe, however, and hopes to one day return to see it once more. For now, though, she's content here in Eorzea.
