Madge

Madge Nielson, formerly of the Million Rockets crew, had a dream. She felt alive when she felt the world rushing by her, propelled on four tiny wheels. Freedom was just underneath her feet, letting her soar, adrenaline pumping through her veins, mind melding with body as she blocked out all the world around her. At least in that regard, being deaf might have been of some small help. Either way, it's certainly never stopped her.

Madge rose to fame in the pro skating world in her late teens, after catching the attention of the world from a video shared online following a local competition. She has been praised for her innovative moves and positive image, and though the fact of her disability has lead her to be rather noteworthy as well, as far as she's concerned, who she is is secondary to what she can do.

Out of old habit, she is often seen wearing a pair of large headphones, a habit that she began in youth to keep strangers from trying to speak to her, and avoid any awkward situations that might arise. Despite this, she is gregarious and friendly, and consistently the life of any party she frequents.

Though her career is still going strong, she knows that she can't count on sports to carry her forever, and has begun to look for ways to continue the work she has begun as a coach and advocate, to make life better for all the young people who come after her, as others before did for her. When in life one is done a kindness, it's best to pay it forward. On par only with the expression of the self, it's love that makes the world go round.
