Oldest son of two members of the Fate’s Edge Crew—Donovan Montoya and Fiona Kokkinos—Kenneth is the spitting image of his father. For the most part, at least. The sad truth of the matter is that, unlike his younger brother, Kenneth was actually born an Inept Fire Elemental. The Gods couldn’t even grant him the mercy of being born a Fire Dragon like his mother.

Unlike Brenton, Kenneth has always been an outgoing person ever since he was a young boy—it being his most prominent trait and remaining so over the years. Not only does he have loads of enthusiasm, but he tends to be overly friendly with people he barely even knows as well. All of this paired together with his dimwitted charms makes Kenneth a pretty approachable guy overall. However, his lack of self awareness and boundaries does tend to unsettle certain people at times, making them believe that he has some sort of ulterior motive when that really isn’t the case at all. He’s just that nice of a person.

Even with all of his positive aspects, Kenneth still can’t help but feel bad about himself in his own way. There’s just something about being born Inept—with no real unique things about him other than his lineage—that’s a massive blow to the self-esteem. As a result of these feelings of inadequacy, he works twice as hard to be a stronger person. For instance: Kenneth constantly goes to the gym or exercises in his room, became vegan while also eating healthier in general, and trains in combat with his mother every chance he gets. His younger brother can’t help but roll his eyes at all of this extra effort, but Kenneth knows it’s a necessity if he wants to be viewed as much more than just some dud of an Elemental.

Due to his lack of well, anything, Kenneth is extremely drawn to the abnormal. When is say abnormal, I mean the different races all over Akwan along with the different Inheritances out there. He stays up some nights just browsing the web and looking for information previously unknown to him about both these subjects. Kenneth even listens to audiobooks on these matters too. As a result of this, he tends to blurt out uncomfortable facts that are only really interesting to him eighty percent of the time. If you assumed that this doesn’t help with the whole ‘certain people being unsettled by him’ thing, you’d be absolutely correct.

Kenneth also spends a lot of his time with Manette Berti, the two of them being absolutely inseparable since a very young age. Especially since the two not only grew up in the same castle, but were born only a little over a month apart. His feelings towards her are intricate and complicated, but only to him. Most people with eyes can see what’s going on here. Regardless, he is always looking out for the eldest Princess of Candor, always willing to be her number one support system.

Way of the Spear

A skill taught to him by his mother, Fiona. Since she herself is extremely skilled in using this kind of weapon, it is only natural that she wanted to teach one of her sons as well. Kenneth jumped at the opportunity to learn, the skill making him feel better about himself the better he got at it. Fiona is quite impressed with Kenneth, actually. So much so that she can see him leading the guard in her stead one day if he wanted.

Hand to Hand Combat

A skill that was taught to him in tandem by both his father and mother. It’s the most basic way to defend one’s self, after all. Fiona and Donovan switched off teaching him frequently, it depended on who was busy and who wasn’t. Though, Kenneth will admit that his father adds a bit too much of his own flare to things. It’s why he tends to follow Fiona’s instructions and suggestions more. You gotta take fights seriously. Some could be life or death.

In Depth Race & Inheritance Knowledge

As stated before, Kenneth does a lot of his own research on the Races and known Inheritances of Akwan. He invests a lot of time looking into these things for the sake of his own enjoyment, finding them intriguing in a sort of morbid way. As a result, he knows way too much for his own good about certain things. Though, his knowledge on these subjects can potentially come in handy.
