Description

Malayan (pronounced mala-yan) is a greed demon who specializes in carpentry. He was one of Faust's trusted followers who lived in Slumber. His business partner is Rosmarus.

Malayan appears to be a tall adolescent boy, with a pair of horns growing from his forehead. He has a long black tail with a heart shaped stinger at the tip. He has long black hair which is cut short in the front. He is very slender, and he's often seen walked on all fours like greed demons do, sneaking around on the rooftops. His upper body is covered in scars from Malayan having his organs removed multiple times, though he usually wears a carpenter apron with various tools attached to it, so the scars aren't visible. He wears knee long shorts and striped socks. Malayan also has scars on his wrists and forearms, which he cover with his wristbands. Unlike most demons he wears shoes.

Personality

Malayan is a very upbeat boy. He's quite optimistic and loves to kick back and relax with his friends. That said he's also got a keen eye for business, and once he spots an opportunity to make some coin he gets very serious. Due to being a greed demon he often goes to extreme measures in order to get what he wants. He also has a large collection of carpenter tools. He gets caught up in his own greed, but deep down he is very good natured kid. He'll do anything to help out his friends in need, even if it means sacrificing himself. However it takes a great deal of patience to win his loyalty. Malayan doesn't take kindly to outsiders or people who he senses to be worthless. Because of his past, he doesn't trust adults or businessmen, the only exception being Faust, of course. Malayan often gets in himself intro trouble and has to be bailed out, which is something he's embarrassed about. He hates to be a bother, hence he's reluctant to ask for help. He's quite simple, and in his own opinion, has an "ugly mug" for a face, though that doesn't seem to bother him. He does have a tendency to freak out easily and often overacts to little things, which seems to amuse the people around him.

Background

Malayan was born with knowledge of the carpentry trade due to the influence from his human's memories. He tried making a living as a carpenter early in his life but he eventually ended up being involved in the black market trade instead. However when he messed up a deal he ended up in a deep debt that he was unable to pay off. His collectors captured him and sold him off in the organ trade. Being a demon Malayan was quite valuable to organ traders, as he would be able to regrow most of his organs. Malayan was then kept as prisoner, locked away and chained up in a dark cell, only to be disturbed when his organs had regrown so they could be harvested again. 

However one day a young boy with red hair appeared, paying off all of Malayan's debts and simply stating "I need a good house for me and all my friends". The boy freed Malayan and brought him to Slumber, in which Malayan cried tears of joy upon seeing the sun after being locked away for years in darkness. Malayan slept for 12 days after being released. When he woke up he immediately started building the perfect house the boy desired. After he was done, he stayed with the boy called Faust and swore eternal loyalty to the young witch.

A year later he met Rosmarus, another one of Faust's followers, and they became business partners soon after. Their business in Slumber became infamous for ripping people off, which obviously greatly affected their reputations. Despite that it only seemed to make the two grow closer. The duo also ended up making mortal enemies with the Sirens living in Slumber's swamp after attempting to steal their pearls.

After Faust's death, Malayan left Slumber with his partner. Their current whereabouts are unknown.
