Penguin is very young, and because of this he is quite naive. He is a very kind and caring dragon but sheltered and naive. Easy to manipulate and sway because he is too trusting. Because of his naivety and youth he looks up to all of his elder siblings but especially his brother Prince Blizzard. Blizzard manipulated Penguin into practically worshiping him. Penguin began thinking Blizzard was always right as Blizzard isolated him from the rest of his family. After Blizzard's coup d'état (he was only 12 at the time) he joined his brother due to his manipulation. Over time while living amongst the insurgent Icewings he grew more mature, but also became more conflicted as he saw his brother doing bad things. He began to stand up for himself more, though he never ever stood up to Blizzard. He began to mask his true feelings around Blizzard and the other insurgents, feeling isolated.
Appearance:
Prince Penguin is a young and small Icewing with a softer build. He is a pale sunset blue with pinkish gradients and grey spikes. He has soft purple irises and usually has an anxious or warm expression, though when he grows older that switches to more neutral. For accessories he wears an armor gauntlet and pauldron with claw extensions on left arm. There is an orange gemstone embedded in the center of a star shape on the bracer. When he ran away from his brother after a fight he was left with a claw mark scar across his chest (age 15).

Prince Penguin is one of the seven princes and princesses born to Queen Avalanche of the Icewings. He is the youngest in his family, likely the last child the queen will have. Penguin is an animus dragon, the only one out of his siblings. His father is also an animus. Penguin did not know he was an animus at all, during the testing that all dragonets must undertake he showed no signs of the power. He has no clue on how to use his power, and it was only discovered on accident, though he was made to keep it secret from his parents by his brother Blizzard. Originally Blizzard could not have cared less about Penguin, but when Blizzard realized his little brother was an animus he became interested n using him. Blizzard manipulated Penguin by isolating him and doting on him, making it so that he would rely on nobody but Blizzard for support. Penguin became very attached to him because of this. Blizzard wanted to use Penguin's power for his planned uprising, he knew how to get Penguin to enchant things by manipulating his behavior and telling him what to say. He also made Penguin afraid to use his power on his own by using various lies, so Penguin will only use his power with his guidance; giving Blizzard a monopoly on his animus power.
When Blizzard's coup d'état failed Penguin joined him as he felt he had no place in the palace. Blizzard had lied to him saying that their mother was falsely casting him out, saying if she discovered his animus power she would do the same. His parents believe Penguin was kidnapped, taken against his own will. Living amongst the insurgent Icewings, Penguin did not adhere to their beliefs, he thought they were too extreme but he was too scared to debate them. He trusted that his brother Blizzard would make the right decisions, though that trust would be worn down over time as Blizzard continued to commit more and more atrocious actions. Soon Blizzard put Penguin's powers to use for their war efforts, making him enchant various weapons and tools to assist the insurgency's fighters. Blizzard always kept Penguin close, rarely letting him leave his sight but also not allowing him to be put in danger, so he would not be allowed to fight. This short leash made Penguin start to distrust his brother more and more as he got older, begining to realize that his crusade was disingenuous.
After the death of the Nightwing queen and Blizzard's retreat from the Night Kingdom Penguin met an Icewing-Nightwing hybrid by the name of Midnight. He found her dying on the edge of the desert, after having been poisoned by a Sandwing stinger. He brought her back to an Icewing insurgent camp where an antidote was provided, saving her life. Despite barely knowing her, he decided to trust Midnight and asked her to try to talk his brother Blizzard out of the crusade he was on. He divulged all of Blizzard's plans and explained his circumstances. Penguin did not know that Midnight was an animus, and thus did not disclose that he was also an animus. Midnight agreed to try to make Blizzard back down. Before she met Blizzard she realized that Penguin did not belong with the insurgents, that he seemed different as though he did not want to be there. She offered to help him leaving while they were on the way to Blizzard, Penguin hesitantly declined as he did not want to betray his brother.
When Midnight met Blizzard, and declined his offer to join the insurgency, a fight broke out. Blizzard gave a command for Penguin to use his power to take down the hybrid. Penguin saw was Midnight a fellow animus, and saw the hypocrisy of his brother. Penguin refused and begged Blizzard to back down and stop the fighting. This refusal caused Blizzard to strike at Penguin out of anger, leaving a deep gash across his chest. Penguin realized that his brother was just using him and during the fight ran away. Both Midnight and Penguin escaped that day.
Eventually Midnight and Penguin would form a friendship but I do not know at what point of the story this would be as it's still a WIP.
