Waylon does not often associate with his siblings—or anyone, for that matter. This could be due to the fact that Axel's magic had gone horribly wrong years ago, resulting in turning his stumpy tail into a monstrous, meat-eating tentacle that seems to have a mind of its own.

Waylon possesses an incredible amount of intelligence; he spends much of his time reading and studying, holding a deep interest in science and mathematics. However, he tends to be very stagnant, monotone and to-the-point, earning him the nickname 'Mr. Boring' among his family. Although he's well-mannered and proper, he can be quite bossy and short-tempered, making him quite difficult to get along with. His tail, which the siblings refer to as "Eddie" in reference to his middle name, eats nearly everything it can get its suction cups on, and often portrays Waylon's emotions more outwardly, such as lashing and growling angrily when he's annoyed, or coiling up when he's fearful. Although he and Eddie have grown used to one another, he is still not fond of his predicament and searches endlessly for ways to reverse the effects of Axel's shadow magic.

More often than not, Waylon keeps to himself and stays in his room. Though he hides it well, Waylon has a lot of suppressed emotions, dealing with a mild case of depression as a result. And no one would ever know the horrifying secrets he keeps to himself.
