Despite his intimidating appearance, "monster" is not a word that many of those who have done business with Julian would think to apply to him. One of the later models to result from the Beta 2.0 project, for many toons he's the friendliest cog they've ever met, genuinely interested in helping them with their finances (especially if they're in trouble with other Cashbots) simply because he hates the way cogs like to bleed toons dry. Gentle and friendly at work and excitable around friends, seeing him now makes it hard to believe that he was originally created to be even more excessively combat driven than most other cogs who genuinely want to see toons put in their place.

When he still had all of his teeth and was caged under the thumb of his overzealous creator, however, he possessed combat abilities far beyond those of his typical model. His creator, a self-proclaimed genius known simply as The Baron, wanted to experiment with a model of cog that would function more like mass-produced highly dangerous combat drones than white collar workers. To achieve these ends, they pulled enough strings to experiment with giving Julian the ability to use attacks typically reserved only for much higher level suits, and tested his capabilities in the field, keeping their invention safe by testing him only in situations where he was in no danger of losing.

Julian thoroughly hated both his creator and the way he was forced to behave, and so quickly began looking for a way out. This bid for escape led him to Jennifer and Benny, both of whom aided his escape and helped him hide until the project was cancelled and it was safe for Julian to show himself in public again. Since then, he and Sebastian began their own financial agency together with the goal of repairing some of the harm done by the cogs by helping toons instead of taking advantage of them, which is work that Julian enjoys far more.
