Part of my pirate universe! If you ask Caspian, he'll tell you he did not mean to get kidnapped by pirates. If you ask the pirates in question, they'll tell you they most certainly did not mean to kidnap a duke's son. The fact that Caspian ended up on the pirate ship is, therefore, confusing to everyone involved (apart from Jude. It's his fault). Caspian himself is not a fan, but he can't say he doesn't get used to it eventually. He's a bit stuck-up and definitely not prepared for the life out on the high seas, but he's here now, and dammit, he's too proud to be a burden. Plus, he's always been a quick learner. Helps that Nickel can relate to being brought up among nobility, even if they're not the most friendly person out there; also helps that Alisa is cute.
