"Humans, demons, they're all the same..."

There was a time lost to the shrouded mist of memories where Vladimir Volhound was a human sorceror. He was a master of the arcane arts; his powers and confidence growing until they caught the attention of a powerful demon who noticed his aura of potent darkness.

There is a fine line between confidence and arrogance and Vladimir Volhound did not shy away from it. He dared to experiment with spells that no other mortals would even consider.

Though the creatures of darkness were attracted to his growing power, he had little tolerance for their ilk. Demons, however, are not known for their respect of personal boundaries. One especially powerful demon, who had been present from before there was a land called Aria, was determined to seduce the man to darkness and become his general in the perpetual war for the souls of mortals.

The demon placed a terrible curse upon Vladimir to which there could be no escape. This curse turned Vladimir into a creature of immense bloodlust.
