"Be careful chirren, that's a LOT OF SODIUM!"

Lucas doesn't belong here. He goes to school, practices for Theater class, gives his little sister wild rides on his back as he pedals her too-small tricycle in crazy circles on the driveway. He cheats on math tests, knows every meme by heart, and will win games of The Floor Is Lava no matter how inappropriate the situation.

And he's not their son.

He wonders if his parents know, sometimes. That the real Lucas, their baby boy, is gone away somewhere with the fairies who left him in their son's place. He doesn't remember the night he was abandoned here by his kind, or the face of the child they traded him for. But he does know that he's determined to find the real Lucas that his family loves so much, and maybe, just maybe... they'll still have enough love left for him too. He loves them and desperately wants to belong, but is afraid they wouldn't love him anymore if they knew he's not their son.

Lucas is an extra teen, and this drama queen memelord will joke, pratfall, and reenact Vines for everyone's entertainment like there's no tomorrow. Part of it is an attempt to laugh off the deep guilt he feels at how he thrives on his family's "stolen" affection, and part of it is just a piece of his fey nature that craves attention and applause. This boi can verifiably fit 16 hot chili fries into his nostrils at once.

Lucas' true nature is a forest sprite with strong magic ties to deer. He keeps a human form most of the time to feel more at home with his family and hide the fact that he's a changeling, but can also turn into a black stag or anything between deer and human (faun, etc.). His eyes turn a glowing red whenever he feels strong emotions, so he tries to keep things lighthearted whenever he's around others. He has some slight magic powers (he's a weak 'runt' compared to most fairies; his weakness and asthma are why they left him as a changeling), like being able to shift small objects from a few feet away, deflect attention away from himself as long as nobody is focused on him, or charm himself to be more attractive/lucky for a few seconds.

Lucas keeps a sharp iron knife with him in case he has to fight off any of the more nasty-minded fey that roam the area-- as a changeling, he occasionally attracts unwanted attention. As a changeling snooping into finding and taking back his human counterpart, he attracts even more attention. (Because his magic is weak, the iron doesn't hurt him simply by being at his side-- if he got cut, however, the metal would poison him.)
