About
Soleil is the Crown Princess of the Day Kingdom, and the only living child of the King and Queen. Born under mysterious circumstances, she was very sheltered as a child, and grew to be quite reserved, though she has been trying to open up recently. After the coronation of Princess Lune of the Moon Kingdom, it appears she developed a... friendship with Prince Mond, Lune's younger brother.

ouwardly demeanor
There is a reason Soleil has been known for being the biggest challenge of all nobles when it comes to acquiring her friendship: she almost never starts a conversation on her own, and even if she does, it almost never goes away from small talk. Not like one would get anything different by starting the conversation themselves. It came to a point where some would gossip about her having a severe throat injury and not being able to talk for long.
But even when she's just watching, her body language may come off as distant or indifferent, although she is most likely paying minute attention.
tendencies
Soleil has a tendency to sulk in private and bottle her frustrations up to rant about behind closed doors, though an exception are specifically politically charged discussions. To watch someone as quiet as her speak so eloquently about matters relating to politics is honestly a little whiplash inducing. Who would've thought the sheltered princess knew so much of the world? Who would've thought she would have such a burning passion for making things turn for the better...

If one manages to break her gigantic emotional walls, Soleil is a very affectionate and warm individual, showing an unusual bubbly side very few have seen; one who cares not for official titles or reputations to keep, but rather maintaining an interesting conversation. Aside from childhood friends, only castle workers even know this side of her exists.
One of her main love languages is, believe it or not, physical touch. She loves to hug people and cling to her friends and partners, as she believes keeping them physically close is the best way to show them how emotionally close they are to her and how safe she feels around them. She keeps this part of her a secret due to knowing how her kindness may be interpreted as naivety.
Backstory
before
In very simple terms, it all started when a Moon noble and the Sun heir had a child together: Soraia. Due to many disagreements and frustrations about the situation from the nobles of both kingdoms, tensions rose until a full blown war began. It went on for far more time than anyone predicted, and only really stopped once Soraia rose to the throne and forcibly united all the rulers of Zenith into a peace treaty.
Even if the war stopped, the queen still had yet another huge problem — she and her husband Suno struggled to have children. Until Aelius came along. The golden boy, as he would later on be known as, was spoiled to hell and back, until he fell deeply ill with a mysterious condition which unfortunately took his life way too quick. Distraught by this, both the rulers tried and tried to get another child for months on end... and thus Soleil came into the picture.
childhood
Shaken by Aelius' early death, Sol's parents were extremely strict and protective of her daughter in a desperate attempt to never lose her. Because of this, her childhood was lonely and she was honestly overloaded with classes upon classes so as to 'distract' her.
The very few times they would travel or otherwise have any sort of noble reunion made her jump for joy, as it meant that she would at least see someone for sure: Astra, princess of the Star Kingdom and one of the few children allowed to be near her freely and that she could interact with.
teenagehood
As she grew older, the princess started to feel trapped by her parents, and thus she grew rather bitter about them and started pushing back. Of course, it wasn't easy convincing them to loosen up, but years of diplomacy and debate lessons worked in her favor for sure. Though she was still very awkward from not talking to people in friendly contexts for her whole childhood, making a few friends with castle staff and some very few nobles worked well enough, and she got to actually practice a lot of her classes she had been taking since she was a kid.
adulthood
About when she turned 18, she caught wind of the rumors around her quietness, some of which included comments that severely underestimated her social capabilities. Now being aware of a perceived weakness, Soleil took the interesting choice of learning how to fight, which was okay for her parents for once.
The disapproval of more than a few nobles upon finding out fed the theories she already had in her head... perhaps there would be some sort of conspiracy against her if she kept presenting herself as 'weak' as she was? This drove her to an even more anxious state, and she trained relentlessly so she would at least be able to physically handle herself if needed.
The first person to bring the concern for her well-being to the queen was Astra, although anonymously; and after asking a few of the castle staff, Soraia felt it was fit to intervene with profissional help. And so she did. Soleil was initially hesitant, but coming from her mother, she figured it was for the best and accepted trying out medications for it. Soleil then went from being afraid of approaching others to consciously keeping her circle small, even feeling safe reaching out to try a romances here and there.
today
The sudden death of queen Melanie caught everyone by surprise; her oldest daughter Lune then took the crown. In what one could describe as incredible timing, scholars found that the realm's magic levels rose up to levels not seen since the start of the war, thus giving the people access to Paradise again since decades past.
With Paradise now reachable, she has grown close to a few other royals, but specially Mond, prince of the Moon Kingdom.

- Dressing up: She likes the confidence boost of a well-kept appearance.
- Researching: She's a curious soul, what can one say.
- Hot Cocoa: It tastes heavenly! Specially in winter.
- Flower Arranging: It was one of her first hobbies, one she didn't expect to be so entertaining.
Dislikes
- The Heat: The Day Kingdom can get unbearably hot.
- Interrupted Naps: If she's taking a nap, it means she's not having a good day. It gets worse if she's interrupted.
- Big Animals: She doesn't know why, but being in the presence of big animals makes her freeze.
- Religion: She's just not... into the whole organized religion thing.
Trivia
Calling:
Her destruction calling manifests itself as fire manipulation. It is usually useful only for lighting candles, though it can be used as a weapon with enough training.
- She can hide her wings and halo at her will, and does it most of the time due to not knowing why she even has them in the first place.
- She has established friendships with a few of the castle staff, most notably her stylist, castle librarian & the main chef.
- Despite never needing to, she asked to be taught baking when she was a kid, and she can bake some pretty nice pastries.
- She does still believe that there is someone up above, but doesn't engage in religious practices. Not when she has the option not to, anyway.

Relationships
Soraia • mother
They have a... rather strained relationship, ever since Sol was a child. Soraia has been a fairly strict mother, one that expects a lot from her child, even if not explicitly so. Despite this, Soleil can't help but feel a mix of pity and mourning for what could be.
Suno • father
Soleil's relationship with her father isn't significantly different from her mother's, but with Suno not being the main ruler, he was a little more emotionally available... he was also more open to giving her a little more freedom.
Aelius † • brother
Soleil's older brother she never met. She does not know much of him, as her parents don't often talk about the subject.
Mond • crush
They've grown closer ever since Lune's coronation, admittedly they initially wanted only a friendship but things kinda grew out of proportion... at least it's reciprocated.
Astra • childhood friend
Due to the Sun and Star Kingdoms being allies, they have known each other since they were kids, and were often left to play together whenever the royals were discussing something. They like dressing up together.
Eteri • friend
A recent addition to her small friend circle, Soleil is thrilled to have another person close, even if they don't have much in common other than their titles.
Helios • friend
Though they have been nudged in a particular direction by their parents, they are simply friends and have no interest in further developments of their relationship. They honestly think it's a funny notion.
Appearance
description
Soleil has warm toned skin with light yellow sun-themed marks, red eyes and butt-length light beige hair that fades to light yellow at the ends. She keeps it down most of the time. She is rather fit, but her activity level doesn't make it so any defined muscle is particularly visible; one would assume she is simply skinny.
She wears mostly red, orange and yellow dresses or blouse + skirt combos, often with a piece of armor-like acessory. She prefers to keep jewelry as a minor detail of her outfits as a whole.
