Sapih is an interstellar botanist, and she owns a massive greenhouse and collects plants specimens from all over the universe. She is very charitable in nature and has a beautiful home filled with thousands of different species of plants from all different planets. Saiph spends her day tending to them and learning about all of their abilities and uses, and because of her many years of hands-on studying, she is incredibly intelligent.
The charm she wears around her neck is a rough-cut gem called ‘sphalerite’, which is an excellent conductor of electricity. Since her greenhouse is so large and she is the only one who works in it, she needed something that would allow her to monitor her home and her plants while she was away or far from a specific section. Using advanced technology and a bit of messing around, she was able to create a device that, when she touched it, transferred her thoughts and brain waves via wireless circuits to certain systems located all around the greenhouse. The system is extremely efficient and works well most of the time, but since it is something of her own creation, there are always bugs to fix and maintenance to do as she strives to ever improve it.
Saiph makes her living selling and trading plants specimens that have the ability to be used as weapons; such as acid spitters, ones that release noxious gas, carnivorous plants similar to that of Venus fly traps, and some that ensnare whatever is near it in a tangle of vines. For for the most part it was just harmless; she had domesticated almost all of the specimens so that no one was in danger of getting seriously hurt, but once she stumbled upon a new discovery, things got much more complicated and dangerous.
One time while trying to connect her thoughts to a section of the greenhouse, Saiph accidentally discovered that some of the plant specimens were compatible with her technology. She was immediately fascinated by this and using this newfound knowledge she set to work. The viscet was able to technologically enhance certain flora using various coding mechanisms and programs, increasing their abilities and potential for harm.
She knew that if someone with bad intentions got a hold of something like this, there would be major consequences, so she set on creating a higher security for her home and greenhouse. But word got around, and there began to be people coming to her, asking for help. She began to sell it to support those who were fighting against oppressors or for the warring planets that needed an edge in battle. Of course, she does this with only the best intentions in mind and is smart enough to know who to sell to. Weaponized flora in itself is not a new concept, but no one has been able to use it so efficiently as Saiph has. The level of intricacy and genius that goes into each of these programmed plants is unheard of and coveted across the galaxy, and with that brings more problems than Saiph ever wanted.
Getting involved in wars and conflicts in other galaxies and solar systems brought her closer to the fighting, and now she is in danger of being targeted by opposing sides if they ever found out who their enemy’s supplier was. Through her studies and passion Saiph has been able to draw out the full potential of these alien plants, and although much of her research has been successful breakthroughs in the world of botany, many seek after her findings to use it for malicious purposes.
