Ender isn't your typical viscet, in fact, you would be hard-pressed to find anything viscet-like about him save for his appearance. It's also debatable whether he's considered an actual person or not, since he was created...well, on accident. His creator, Saiph, is a greenhouse owner, but not in your regular sense. Sphene grows and harvests bioweapons by integrating technology directly into the flora's DNA itself. In one particular experiment, she used viscet DNA. Her already powerful plants with heightened intelligence latched onto the sample and grew an entirely new body from it.
Right away, it became apparent that this creature had abilities unlike any individual she had ever come across. Its body glowed with an otherworldly light and things would...change when it was near. Over time, the entity (now known as a male) adopted the name Saiph had given him— "Ender"— for his unexpected existence. Created as he was, Ender has no concept of emotion or feeling, and Saiph struggles to work with his purely logic-induced nature. He strongly desires and strives to understand emotion, so Saiph helps him along as they both work to uncover his abilities, all the while battling inside and outside wars that threaten them both.

Ender was not born of natural means, instead, he was created from an accidental combination of specific elements, samples of powerful growth chemicals found in an exotic type of flora, and a DNA sample of another viscet(Saiph)’s DNA. Because of his origins, he doesn’t have the same capabilities for emotions and personality as one would normally, and while he’s teachable, it’s been a long process that requires time and patience. Although he seems to be strangely one-dimensional, his most defining and obvious trait is his curiosity for anything new, and his desire to understand and explore outside of the greenhouse.
how do they feel about the ocean? why?
Having lived in Saiph’s personal interstellar greenhouse for the duration of his recently started life, Ender had not had the opportunity to leave due to the greenhouse’s location. The structure is hidden somewhere in the depths of space and doubly functions as both a transportation ship and a provider of enough space for Saiph to cultivate her seemingly endless garden. Although the atrium is enormous, Ender wants to see other worlds. Saiph always stays far from any planets that have potential inhabitants due to the nature of her wor, but she once told him of an endless expanse of water called an ocean. It stuck with him and has become a sort of obsession. Because he’s only seen water in relatively small amounts, the concept of such a thing even existing is mystifying, and it’s become almost his one and only goal to be able to go and see one.
