About
Kevin spent a lot of his time hitting up different parties and hangouts, and while at a glance, it'd seem like he was doing it just to be a player and a carefree spirit, which is a little true, he was always working hard to further his connections with people. He would look for opportunities for work, chances to further his place in the world, and make his dream come true in having a standing of his own and, eventually, he finally got something in the form of a small plot of land in the midst of a budding street of shops. It wouldn't seem like much to most, but for Kevin, who was living out of a small apartment by himself at the time, it was the beginning of a dream come true.
However, his world was about to turn upside down, but not quite in the way one would expect. While making his way home one late afternoon after a big party, he stumbled across a hidden grotto in a park he was passing through and found Kyu, a kid no older than ten who had definitely been out there for a while, if their rain soaked form was any indicator. (etc etc he takes them to a police station and tries to find their guardians, no one can find them, he knows he can't take care of the kid with having the property he's working on and a small living space but Rin promises to help and Kevin ends up taking Kyu in. then kevin works on the property with Rin's help and Kyu's moral support and finally finishes The Oolong Axolotl aquarium cafe a bit before the series starts)
About four years later, Kevin and Kyu both reside in the upstairs living space above The Oolong Axolotl, and with Rin coming and going with his various portaling around. Kevin has long since left the bachelor lifestyle to raise Kyu mostly on his own (Rin slowly comes around to becoming more responsible and having more of a hand in Kyu and Kevin's lives), and although he isn't perfect, he does the best he can and gives Kyu all the love he has in his heart for his kid. It's through how Kyu's presence in his life also opens his eyes that he also becomes closer to and sees beyond the facade Rin often wears, and does also lead to him hiring Jaime after learning of his financial struggles after losing his home.

Before becoming a father, Kevin was quite the flirtatious type, going through each day with a seemingly carefree personality when, underneath, he was much more calculating and stressed out, constantly trying to forge new connections and make his way up in the world. He didn't set aside much time for actual genuine connections, and only really knew Rin, whom annoyed him to no end (much to Rin's own delight), and Moxie, who helped keep him going through the tougher times.
Then, after having taken on the responsibility of raising a kid, plus now having this new property in the inner ring of the city, he came around to (over time) realizing that he'd really have to step up. So, as he worked hard on building his combined home and business, he put just as much work into doing his best to give Kyu as good of a life as he could provide, which slowly yet surely shaped into becoming more responsible and both open-hearted and open-minded to the world and people around him. Plus, as he goes through the years of being a dad with Kyu as his kid, he does shape into more of the typical pun-loving, caring, and compassionate kind of dad that he is now.

Appearance
Kevin is an axolotl hybrid, which means that adorning his tan skin, he has the features of bright blue gills where one's ears would be, an equally blue tail, and very keen eyesight in his extra set of eyes, which proves effective underwater. His jet black hair is usually brushed back, though it settles into a much softer shape when in a casual setting. He often has painted nails, usually done by either Jaime or Kyu, and sometimes, the two must compromise and while Jaime can paint one hand with darker colors, Kyu is allowed to paint the other quite colorfully. Although he does his best to keep his appearance at least a bit tidy, with how he maintains his small amount of facial hair, even Kevin is powerless against the slight dark bags under his eyes that come and go depending on the amount of stress he is under.
His style swings in two entirely different directions based on the situation as well, as for when he is at work in the cafe or in a professional setting, he cleans up nicely with gelled up hair, a nice cobalt blue vest, a white button-up collared shirt, bright blue tie, and dark cobalt blue pants with a nice pair of shoes. In a more casual setting though, such as a peaceful outing around the area or even a nice, relaxing day at home, he much more often adorns comfortable clothes, like warm sweaters, T-shirts often adorned with dad jokes, and if the weather is right, he is comfortable in soft dresses as well. Plus, his accessories often vary, as he receives gifts like kandi bracelets and whatnot from those close to him fairly often.

Ever since they found each other, they've been close as father and child, and have gotten each other through tough times together. He could honestly never imagine a life without Kyu now, nor would he ever wish for such a scenario to occur. They're Kevin's light, and he'd fight to the death to keep that light as bright as possible.
Name: Rin Relationship: Best Friend/Crush (Very Close)
At first, things were rocky between Kevin and Rin, as the demigod's antics would repeatedly annoy him and make Rin seem like more of a jerk worth getting to know. However, after taking in Kyu and becoming more open-hearted/minded, he started to see past that, and soon the two found themselves becoming close after reaching a certain understanding of one another. In present day, Kevin has come around to enjoying Rin's company, and instead finds the other's less brash antics humorous or cute, and has come to trust and care about the demigod more than he'd ever thought he would.
Name: Moxie Relationship: Best Friend (Very Close)
These two have known each other since high school, having both been rebels and practically like family to one another as they grew up together. They both lived in the outskirts of Sunrise City for a while, and formed the gang that Moxie and Alex now head together, which serves as a home for kids and teens primarily that have lost their homes/families, and when he can, Kevin does go back to visit and help out where he can. They've been there for each other through their toughest times, and even though Kevin now lives in the inner ring of the city, their bond has hardly beared any strain.

In an effort to make his way up in the world, Kevin would often do his best to adapt and make himself stand out to those he could potentially gain connections and assets from, which lead to his often attendance to parties and meetups. It was a pretty stressful time for him, in which Moxie did her best to help where she could, and even Rin would lighten up a bit when he took notice, but he was fiercely determined to make his dream come true and gain a standing in the world. Then, finally, after many late nights, attempted plans that had varied results, and destressing sessions of hanging out with Moxie, it finally happened: his luck had won out, and Kevin found himself with a nice patch of property in the city's inner ring to build his dream cafe upon. (insert also Kyu's appearance into Kevin's story here later)
Present Day
Nowadays, he works hard in running The Oolong Axolotl and being a father to Kyu, and although he's still learning how to raise a kid, they help each other out in figuring out whatever comes their way together. Plus, he's become closer to Rin as well, to the point where he often finds himself delighted when Rin comes to hang out with him, and they've gotten quite close over the past couple years.
